    Final shot.
    Instrument display.

Interior is magnificent by the way!

Fezza has come a long way. Really.

    Miles better than the 430.

This is very luxurious. Fantastic stuff!!!

Hm, weird... love the 599 but IMO interior is it's weak point, cheap plastics, switches at strange places and overall appearance kind of bloated in comparison to reduced F430 cockpit.

Fair point, it's a matter of taste I guess.
You are right, those two display/ mode buttons are a bit out of place, although, very easy to access when driving.
They change the info on the digital display to give you tyre pressuse, fuel range, nav indication, etc.
Appart from that little bit, it's all carbon fibre and leather.
    And the smell is great!
Bose sound system is outstanding and finally an iPode system that works well! Becker nav units are excellent anyway.
Regarding the styling, I do like it, but you're right, the two central vents look like ET's eyes!!!

Re: Carrera GT lapping Le Mans, my 599 and some news

Thank you for the pictures Futch, congratulations on the 599.
Lucky in saving 8 months on the waitlist.

    Incredible car collection.

This is the stuff of dreams! Thanks for sharing!

Your friends in the RS must be thankful

Isn't it wonderful to see a genuine car enthusiast appreciating these superb cars: Ferraris, Porsches - whatever they may be - each on their own merits irrespective of their cost? Bravo Francois!

And the fact that he still loves his humble -20mm X51 PCCB 997 C2S MkI Shows what a great car it is if it can still be appreciated amongst such exalted company...

    Thanks guys,

    Ron,

difficult to compare them as the reason why I chose those cars specifically is because they all complement each other.

RS perfect track car that can take abuse like no other.

599 perfect GT but can also be a very very good sports car. I found that out in Fiorano during the Ferrari Pilota course.

Carrera GT is a bit of a paradox. Great car but let down by its road tyres which are overwhelmed by the V10 power way too early. It's a great shame. And they don't do the Sport Pilop Cup in the tyre size of the GT. If you want cup tyres, you need 19 in rims at the back and Porsche voids the good will warranty. Bummer. The GT is more like a tech window of what Porsche can do, great car, a collector.

And finally my beloved 997 Carrera S, best sports car in the world, the most versatile and still so much fun!

    Andrea,

Yes 911 GT1 is a dream. It's proving quite hard to find one. There are only 16 996 versions in the world I believe but that's fine, I'm in no hurry. I give myself 2 years to find a good one. There's one in southern France but it's yellow.

Which colour do you want the GT1?black as the others in your garage? I'm a big fan of black cars too

Not only a great car. But probably the best in terms of overall package.

Yes I am extremely fortunate to be able to own such a garage.

If I had to keep only ONE car?

Touch one. If one of my four then it would be the Carrera, it is just very good at everything.

If I had to chose one car though irrespective of mine, I'd go for a black standard GT3. The wing is not exactly discreet but in black it'd be allright and it's very useable on the open roads.

I'd go for white and paint it like the 1998 Le Mans winner.

This car would definitely only be a collector as it's pretty unusable on the open road (as opposed to the Carrera GT. I've done 5000 km in it so far in four months and it's great on the roads!).

This one on the attached picture is a 993 version. Only two in the world!!!

How cool is that!!!!!! Love it!

Re: Carrera GT lapping Le Mans, my 599 and some ne

    GT1 is great stuff.

Isn't the 996 nearly the same as 993, IMO the just sticked the 996 headlights to it. But I'm not much of a Le Mans car historian.

Re: Carrera GT lapping Le Mans, my 599 and some news

I know of a GT1 in Houston, I can find out if he's willing to sell it and for how much. But the question is if you can take it back across the ocean ?

Let me know, anything for you sweet heart

Re: Carrera GT lapping Le Mans, my 599 and some news

Futch I love your stable. You must employ a full time car washer to keep those black cars clean.

BTW, you hit the nail on the head when you indicated that Ferrari has made high performance accessible to the average driver. Ferrari's are easy to drive fast and the joy obtained makes them worth every penny.

Nberry. I am a Porsche lover you know that. But after just one week of ownership of a 599 (my first Fezza) I understand what you've meant all these years.

That badge, that noise, that presence, that smell, all these factors an engineer should be insensitive too...

Phworr! All gone down the drain. Love the Ferrari, it definitely has that "je ne sais quoi"

I wrote earlier that if I had to have just one car, the GT3 it would be.

But if I could have two cars then I'd chose a 599 and a Scuderia.

Re: Carrera GT lapping Le Mans, my 599 and some news

Re: Carrera GT lapping Le Mans, my 599 and some news

Thanks for sharing the pics Futch and congrats on your new 599! You have a liking for black cars hey

Re: Carrera GT lapping Le Mans, my 599 and some news

Superbe, merci ! What a fantastic collection, the 599 is a beauty too with an impressive presence on the road...

Re: Carrera GT lapping Le Mans, my 599 and some news

    WOW

    Congrats,and thanks for pics!

i saw the yellow GT1 parked in Cannes two years ago...sure that yellow(no speed yellow but first Boxster's yellow)is the worse colour for the GT1..

hope that you will find a good one soon!
