    430 scuderia or 599 GTB

    hi guys. i am seriously having a hard time deciding between a 430 scuderia and a 599 GTB. the price difference is very small and the 599 has a lot more horsepower and it even has a longer waiting period......

    BUT the 430 scuderia is more like a race car and is better in handling. i actually went in to buy it but the dealer is somehow trying to convince me to get the 599. The waiting period is around the same for both cars.

    i LOVE the scuderia but the 599 does sound tempting with its power.....and the scuderia does look, handle, and sound better as some people say. the dealer also said that the scuderia is like being in a racing cockpit and is thrilling the whole time but the 599 only sounds better after 3000 rpm.

    i already have a turbo and need another car that is fun and exotic and is super fun to drive

    It's hard to imagine being conflicted in a decision between these two cars, since they're so different. What do you want the car for? Seems like that would answer the question right away.

    Personally I am uninspired by the 599. I'd take a 430 over a 599 any day of the week. But that just reflects my driving tastes and doesn't get you any closer to answering your question for your situation.

    What do you care what we think anyway?

    You already have the ultimate GT car, go for a hardcore weekend car and pick the Scuderia.

    I love it: I NEED another car that is exotic, super-fast and fun to drive . . .

    I'd get the gorgeous 12 cylinder Ferrari GT in a heart beat (especially if I already had a 997 Turbo)

    In what country are you at? Are you in good standing with a Ferrari dealer as to be able to get either one? In the USA all the Scuderias are spoken for and no one can get on the list anymore. You'll have to pay way over $100K to get one and there are a lot of people already standing in line for that option as well. To get a 599 is also the same way as they are already spoken for too. I think in a guy from FerrariChat just bought a Scuderia shy of $500k.

    As you already own (and intend to keep a 997TT) I would rather go for the Scuderia. If you are loking for a fun and exotic car with maximum excitement factor the Scuderia should be your choice. The 599 is the better alrounder and has the nicer engine, of course.

    in 20 yrs time, which will be the more memorable car?

    compare a challenge stradale with say, a 575 maranello today?

    599 all the way. Scuderia is nice but.. Its based on v soon to be old model and its (unjustified imo) hype will be over as soon as the new model will be out. New model will be better and faster than scuderia (as confirmed by ferrari factory, off the record of course).
    Fyi scuderia is actually not that fast on the track (this is fact, I ve raced a couple of them), could not keep up with 997tt stage 2 cars or GT2s. Now this is a bit dissapointing given the compromises inherent in stripped out car.
    Remember the stradale? nobody remembered it after 430 came out a year later..

    It depends a lot on the use of the car. If you have the chance to track the car a lot or even drive on routes with many bends and relatively smooth surfaces, the Scuderia has an advantage.

    However, if you travel long distances the Scuderia will tire you and mostly your paseenger a lot.

    The Scuderia you take out for a drive of a few hours for the sake of it and put it back in the garage until next week. The 599 GTB is for the whole week.

    The front engined V12 configuration has always pointed to a classic Ferrari and the 599 doesn't disappoint at all.

    If you change your cars every year the dillema is not so crucial though. If you keep your cars or collect the 599GTB will be a gem more so than the Scuderia.

    Those two cars have different handling characteristics.
    If you want a GT-like get the 599. If you want a race car for the road get the Scuderia. To each it's own.

    To me the 599 is just not that inspiring. I can't imagine wanting get up Saturday morning to get into the 599 as I'd the Scud. Also the salesman is trying to push the 599 because the market is getting flooded (relatively speaking) as opposed to the Scud which is almost impossible to get anyway.

    Can some1 provide me with the resale value of a 575M Vs. a Stardale? Or a Stardale Vs. a F430 ?

    When you get your hands on a limited production car +/- 1200 units, I wonder how you can be lost

    For those (not all ) who have voted for the 599, stop playing the devil's advocate, praying to get "his" allocation...

    Dude, it's no Brain stretcher, if and only IF you have an allocation, thus, having the chance to be one of the 1200, do it!

    Oh and guess what! the F430 replacement WILL be faster!!! True!!! Didn't know the technology goes upward...
