    I should clarify. Porsche puts this plastic film on ALL cars with the PCM that comes out of the factory as a way to protect the screen during shipment. The dealership removes this film and throws it away. Just ask them to save one for you from a brand new incoming car. Make sense now?

    The free one is fine too but it's not really designed to remain there. It doesnt stay in one place & it gives of bad reflections. For 12 bucks this "anti-glare" one it worth a shot. Saves me a trip to the dealer.

    Jason,
    Forgot to mention w/ the open top Cabrio.'s it can be much more difficult to see the PCM because of the sun so thought this might help. The last one I bought on ebay for my new camera has worked out awesome, we'll see.

    Why - Let's see. Porsche dealer is 45 miles away X 2 = 90 miles @ 15 miles per gallon = 6 gallons @ 4.50 = $27.00. Buy lunch for wife & I plus a few glasses of wine & tip = 60.00. (in Pittsburgh - probably 120.00 for those of you in N.Y., CA, etc.) Possibility of seeing a car I can't resist - Priceless

    Gregg, oh that's right, you have a cabriolet. Makes sense for you to get one that'd be "matte" as opposed to the glossy one that Porsche uses. Let us know how it turns out.

    Duffy, sorry I had no idea that you lived so far away from your Porsche dealership. Or you could always have them mail you one for the price of a postage stamp. The last time I just showed up at the dealership there were not one, not two but THREE black Carrera GTs in the service area. How often does that happen and what a time for me to be without my camera too.

    Yes I could have them mail me one but what fun would that be. Going to the dealership = fun. Lunch with my wife = fun. Resisting buying something = not fun. Fun wins 2 to 1.

    I actually have the one advertised on ebay. I will install Sunday and report.

    I prefer the touchscreen over the stupid knob to input addresses. Take you eye off because of the touch screen? You have to stop to use the stupid knob! Touchscreen wins.

    Is anyone else considering upgrading their car to the PCM3. Primarily, I'm missing my XM radio, and Bluetooth.

    I think quite a few here have installed Sirius to their PCM and Tooki to take care of the Bluetooth function. Plus no messy touch screen to deal with.

    Ya, I know about the NAV-TV option, the dealer tried to sell it to me. But, the issue is I really like XM radio; I already have it in four of my other cars. Plus I know the channel lineup. I did discover this week that many 997 owners have figured out how to install the Cayenne XM kit into the 911. So, I am now considering this option. However, after adding up the expenses of the Tooki and the XM mod, it approaches 2k, which could be the price of a new PCM3 unit.
