According to the Porsche engine development guy (I think it was on Drivers Republic) the new FL engine is much stronger than the GT1 based engine. The new engines have nothing to do with the 997.1 engines; in other words they are not the old engines with just DI. So, if we believe him the GT1 engines that had their beginnings in the 80s are old history now and the new 2008+ engines are the future both for NA and Turbo.
It is oxymoron to say the least, to believe in the enginering of Porsche products and yet rely solely on an ancient engine.
We'll see how strong those engines are as soon as RS Tuning gets its hands on one...
IMO they must have tuned and tested them in Weissach already.
