Robograd:Just added a set of decals/vinyls to my car: should be good for a drop in 0-60 times & a few miles-per-hour on the top speed.
Just need to add an RS badge now to gain better stability
964 Carrera 4 -- 997.2 C2S , -20mm -- 991 GT3 RS ( SOLD )
Hi Gnil,
Yep, RS badge, plus engine + big wingy - thingy etc., but decals MUST be worth more than 20bhp, me thinks - & cheaper !
Alternatively... adding a SMFW + dimpled magnesium roof & bonnet would make an R! Plus, additional & crucial, reduc
tion in weight by deleting the ‘S’ of RS; gotta be a saving of at least 20 grams there !
Cheers
Thanks Cay981,
Hands up! I can’t claim any credit for the combination. Agate Grey: my wife chose that, as after numerous previous Porsches, in all colours, over many years I’d run out of ideas! I’d never thought of grey but I should let her choose the colours more often, as the grey gets lots of positive comments: classy: understated: choice: stealthy, to name a few, & it’s fairly rare on a GT3T - maybe, only two in U.K.
In addition, I took some advice from the now famous (to U.K. buyers at least) Rick, at Highgatehouse. Top man, steered me away from my original choice of platinum stripes. The Matt Black used is spot-on, as the effect changes from deep black in overcaste conditions to feint dark grey in direct sunlight.

Mike, what are your thoughts on the GT-C as a GT3 owner? I'm curious, I love the merc looks and engine sounds and all my previous sports cars have been 911's including 2 GT3's. How does it fare compared to your GT3, as I'm contemplating buying a sightly pre owned sports car again, and unfortunately GT3s from england are way beyond the budget to import to Cyprus, as not only are they priced high, but I'll have to pay a high excise tax to import to cyprus, due to emissions. For example a 911 GT3 is about 40k worth of excise tax on it, compared to a 911 GTS which only has about 10k of excise tax. The AMG would have about 20k of Excise.

It is a Ring map. I don't find it helpful at all, neither do he navigation map even if paying Porsche to load the European maps into the system.
There is simply no time to look down or sideways to check the map.
Best for new people would be to hire a instructor and sit shotgun, he tells out even up coming corners and at what speed and where to aim and brake.
That's how I did my first 2 laps at the Ring on Wednesday evening in a Cayman.
BjoernB:passenger....
Sounds crazy I know. These instructors are quite something.
But that's their job and Porsche had told them we are drivers from the Porsche Sport Cup Deutschland and like we have some basic car control skills............
Amazingly he said I wasn't going fast enough! a few corners that are blind yet he said take them flat, I didn't.
Mine said he has roughly 25000 laps, and compete in the 24hr also.
It was extremely helpful, like rally driving, I had complete trust in him for remembering corners. It would be like "3rd gear flat middle of the road, aim for the 148 sign then brake lightly and turn right then aim for the light pole flat"
had the same experience with a driver from the Porsche race program - where the instructor tells you even the gear and breaking point - makes a huge difference than being "silent" next to you.
btw : you are famous with them - hahaha - just said I "know" somebody from Canada - didn't had to say more

Carlos from Spain:Whoopsy:Speechless.Spotted at the Lindner hotel we are staying. American European Delivery.
That is so high tech ... but if he has time to look at the map while doing the lap then he ain't going fast enough
A very nice portable navigation device with a big display is around 150 EUR in Germany. Often, these devices can be updated to US maps later on. This map looks so ridiculous...the shot of the month.
Oops...just realized this is the Nordschleife...makes even less sense.

bluelines:That map is clearly for a passenger / co-driver. Don’t see what the issue is or why people find it funny. Excellent idea.
OK, c'mon...this is so funny, let's have fun with this.
