Advice on PASM

I am planning to buy a Cayenne 3.2 V6 for daily driving and already made my list of option, however I am still not sure about the PASM.
The car will be equiped with 20 inch SportDesign wheels, which I've chosen for stability reasons and for the look too.
My question is, is it indispensable the PASM with those 20 inch wheels in terms of confort? And again, would it make the car much more stable on high speeds?

Considere too that I am someone who drives pretty calm with non-sportcars.

Re: Advice on PASM

I believe the steel suspension is the sportier ride. I drove both suspensions back to back at Barber Motorsports and the steel suspension had sharper cornering and better roadfeel. We never reached speeds over 110 mph but I have to think the steel would have better high speed stability, on a racetrack.

BUT, you plan to use this as a daily driver. How much high speed stability do you need? Compared to ANY other vehicle, the PASM Cayenne has outstanding high speed stability. Plus, you are not going to be driving on roads as smooth as a racetrack. For real world driving, on real roads, I would highly recommend the air suspension. You won't regret it.

Re: Advice on PASM

Thank you for the reply Austin. Actually if you say that the steel suspension is sportier and it has more stability it reassures me a lot.
Confort is important too, but if it isn't really that bad I don't mind.

Re: Advice on PASM

I have driven and been in both PASM and non-PASM Cayenne. I feel that the Steel suspension is somewhere around the Sport suspension. When I drove it, I put the mode in Comfort, it felt very comfortable. I suggest you go with the Air suspension because you can adjust the height and you have 3 different modes. It can go lower too which is better than steel suspension vehicle.

Re: Advice on PASM

To be honest I don't think I will need the height adjustment considering that my offroad utilisation would not be extreme. As I understood too, also the car get lower at a speed superior to 200 kmh, correct me if I am wrong. In this case, with the V6, this speed is rarely achieved.

I think the best is to try the steel suspensions, unfortunatly is not that easy to find one at my dealer. I will go and see again on Tuesday.

The thing is that I don't want to fully load the car of options and trying to avoid options that may not be that useful for me, but its not easy at all to keep it less than 10000 euro ( I am already at 15000 ).

Re: Advice on PASM

If you are primarily driving on good, smooth pavement, the steel may be OK for you. If your roads are less than perfect, expect a bumpy ride.

Re: Advice on PASM

Bady..

I love PASM..i drive ever in comfort...and when i try to race the truck i take in sport, the car is glued to the road....great suspension system..and then sometimes you can change the look of the car with the height from the ground...

great add on...

move the economy, buy a lot of options..Mr Wiedeking is happy!!!
