I agree. The fog lights on the TT, and worse on the Cayman, are afterthoughts. The 997 Mk2 front can be explained as functional, as the larger openings help cooling.

Yeah, looks like a frog smuggling golf balls.

    Re: Official!

In the US, do you guys think the rear bumoer will have the square "bumper Pegs"?

Re: Official! - More images added

Porsche is expecting that PDK car owner will either use THUMB for changing gears on the steering wheel or even better to drive in D model all the times ...

No real paddles! Big, big mistake IMHO...

Re: Official! - More images added

The wheels on the S models seem to be much nicer. Does anyone have a clear picture of those rims?

I am not really a fan of the new tail lights and wonder if the light strip planned for the carrera 4 models will look as fluid as previos generations. The front looks more sporty, but loses some of the classic and subdued looks porsche captured on the first 997 IMHO. I'd like to see the side view mirrors in person and hopefully take it for a spin when makes it over here stateside.

" If you want to ruin the ride, then pick the sports suspension option, which drops the 911's ride height by 20mm; to be honest, we've found little wrong with the standard set-up, which now benefits from revised spring and damper rates all round. "

Ouch....... wonder what other magazines have to say about the sports suspension.

Re: Official! - More images added

Car magazine did NOT drive new FL997 at all. They can NOT comment on sports suspension since they DID NOT drive it yet. It is missleading as much as possible IMO...

Re: Official! - More images added

Re: Official! - More images added

They haven't driven it - remember this is PASM with -20mm and LSD....they have to say something controversial - journalism 101 -present facts, offer opinion, say something critical.

I have never rated car mag anyway !!! EVO is better lets see what they say (when they catch up !)

Don't like the fact that your car is .2 seconds faster than mine though mex

Re: Official! - More images added

"What these modifications reflect chiefly is the desire for a faster revving experience, and redline moves up to 7500 rpm on both powerplants from the former 7300-rpm ceiling."

Nice.... an extra 200rpm to play with

Lots of technical talk on the engine here....... going over my head

Re: Official! - More images added

Nice - thanks for those posts! Not sure if that new corner on the lights looked better as long as it was camouflaged with that black sticker???

Calm down guys, I think they were refering to the differnce btw the normal vs sports suspension on the 997.1, which apparently in CARs view ruins the ride, and they obviously don't expect that to change much in the facelift version.

Re: Official! - More images added

Right I really have to go to work to earn some money to pay for this obsession, err..... car!

0.2 secs quicker will be great but you would have to be going for warp speed to notice it. Red lining at 7500 rpm is good, that will be about 1.5 secs in first then!!!

I don't like at all this greyish steering wheel. It looks out of place especially now that the PCM is black.
I hope it can be optioned differently.

    Hi!

Any pics of the new key ?

Terrible plastic on the old one

It looks metallic on the pic above !

    Cheers

I 2nd that, it's a complete joke. the so called guys at R&D should do a research on which is faster, pushing a button like a sisi or flapping a paddle from behind the steering wheel. As I said in my previous post, someone up there in Porsche thinks he knows it all What I also noticed is that it wouldn't be too much of a problem for the suppliers of the mk1 tip to change the s/wheel to suit the mk11 design. Incoporatiing paddles from behind will cause the suppliers to charge P-cars more, same thing for the front bumper, not really much different from the mk1. Now you ask yourself that is it worth getting this car

Re: Official! - More images added

The technical improvements are as always with Porsche impressive, however I am much less keen on the styling changes, from the pics I do not like the rear lights at all (but I have to see it in real life before final judgement), besides the "puddles" are silly IMHO.

Re: Official! - More images added

The Paddles will be another steering wheel option, it has to be doesn't it? I'm afraid that if that's what it's going to be like on the GT3 (which I doubt) then I'm speccing Manual.

The price has gone up a fair bit also, Pounds5k on the C4S to Pounds78k. (7%)

I do prefer the black center console, on a dark interior though and the key does look different. lol
