Personally, I would have bought a 991.2 GTS with RWS but this is me, I drive a R8, I have different tastes. Smiley

To each his own I guess but maybe the 911 T will have some collector's value at some point. It is a very nice car, no doubt.

You do?!? No way! I never heard about that, please tell us a bit more! Smiley

I also heard that car manufacturers use marketing tricks.  Perhaps Audi uses marketing tricks as well.

Re: Official: New Porsche Carrera T

Of course Audi does...it is called R8 RWS and the suckers fell for it. Smiley Smiley Still probably going to have a collector's value at some point since this is the only (so far) 2WD R8 ever and produced in limited numbers (999).

Personally, I would like a Carrera S with powerkit and RWS rather than a GTS, in order to avoid the wide body and the -20mm PASM of the GTS. Most people would find this very odd Smiley

    "Porsche....and Nothing else matters"

Not at all. I too prefer the narrow body, and with the roads here, I prefer regular PASM to SPASM (although the SPASM on the 991.2 seems to be more forgiving than on the 991.1; in both cases combined with PDCC I should add.)

wow, you mean business here (you are already aware that I follow everything in this thread...Smiley) - the weight loss is substantial in numbers, ie. roughly 20 kg. However, if I put that back into my perspective, that weight saving is about 1,5 % of the total weight of the car (...1500 kg) ... unless, you like the LiteBox like I am grazy for the T-interior, it makes no sense to me if I may say so. We are still talking about the "T" and not a "Cup whatever version"...just saying...BUT, keep the comments coming, they give me something to think about ! Smiley

My T weights with a full tank 1.423 Kg - the target is to build the lightest 991.2 including the RS-Models, using Porsche OEM Parts, which you can buy for street use. So the DIN-weight(90% Fuel) with the extreme light battery would be under 1.400 Kg...

How much do you pay for the Weissach Package for the 991.2 GT3RS to save 18 Kg? Smiley

The Lithium Battery is a bargain regarding weight savings...unfortunately the OEM Lithium Battery from Porsche Motorsport is right now not available, so I will use the LiteBlox until it will be. It seems, that too many cars burned to ground with their light Porsche-Lithium battery and the wrong chargers.Smiley

BTW - This is the OEM-Lithium:

No, Lithium Battery and PCM out are the final steps with the T - after that I will go to Hockenheim/Pistenclub an try the car on track and compare laptimes and drivefeeling with my old 981 Spyder.

As I mentioned before, the T is a intermediate car for me to try the 991 platform - goal is a used GT3 Touring or the 718 Spyder...in 2019/2020.

But playing with these cars is the fun...and as my salesman from our OPC told me yesterday...with crazy people like you, we earn our money...

But this is not 100% correct, because my former 981 Spyder, which I sold them for list price after 2 years,  stands still unsold in their showroom for 105K€...smiley

Re: Official: New Porsche Carrera T

Hmmm, I am at Hockenheim the sunday before (Porsche Club Cup) and SWMBO just announced another plan for us...a pity...

Re: Official: New Porsche Carrera T

Had a loaner for a short time today and I am impressed! I compared performance figures of the „T“ to my 981 GTS earlier, 0 to 100 km/h in roughly 4.5 sec for both, but, man, this „T“ feels so much quicker and it actually is faster from 0 - 200 km/ h...around 3 sec...so, kudos to Porsche for this model...unfortunately, Porsche (or the dealers) in Germany seems to play it veeeeeery safe and offers more or less base carreras, ie rear seats, ordinary glass , etc. ... anyway, I like the „T“ ! kiss

Re: Official: New Porsche Carrera T

Glad you liked the T-experience, d997h kiss And yes, most showroom cars are fully specced PDK cars....basically « abused » as normal Carrera substitutes though if your interested there are still few interesting specs around...

Having said that I enjoy my +4 kg tinted glass with the current hot weather a lot indecision Definitely better « climate » than in my BMW 4er Coupe! My car is broken in now and I enjoy every km in it kiss Or to say it with topgears words: while nobody asked for a 23rd version of the 911 we are wondering why you need the other 22 versions broken heart

Re: Official: New Porsche Carrera T

Thinking seriously about a T over a M2 Competition as a daily driver (currently using M2 as one).  I have always wanted rear seats in my various GT3s as I like the more raw experience of the GT cars. Will the T fit the bill? I actually think with the thin glass and reworked gearshifts it will bring me half way there. So my spec will be manual, Carrera T interior, full PCM/stereo (it’s a daily driver after all!), rear seats, and maybe rear axle steering and PCCB. Are either of those last two options justifiable for a car of this price? Especially keen to hear opinions on the rear wheel steering. I’ve optioned PCCB on even a Boxster S in the past so I think that one just comes down to the dollars.

Re: Official: New Porsche Carrera T

My GT3 is the only RWS-equipped car I’ve owned.  I wish it had an On/Off switch, as I’d be curious to isolate its effect.

Re: Official: New Porsche Carrera T

Well, I am still waiting for this desperate move from my dealer wanting to get rid of some of the cars in his showroom...I do not know what the very D-day for them is, but who would seriously want to buy a "T" NOW with WLTP and the Paris Motorshow around the corner, so there should be some benefits / rebates available..unless, hmmm, it is Porsche, and they simply don't care... Smiley

Again, from the driving experiences, I am really taken by this car as the turbos add so much "fun", considering I am comparing my (lighter) Cayman GTS 340 bhp to a (heavier) T with "just" 30 ponies more...Smiley

Re: Official: New Porsche Carrera T

I took the "T" for a spin actually yesterday evening on the Autobahn and, here we go, a M2 appeared in the mirrow and I let him pass...I am a strong BMW fan and my DD currently is a 335D, therefore I would not like to be in your position right now, perhaps I would choose the M2 over the "T" as a DD...perhaps not...Smiley...

As to the RWS, I have so far not heard anything about whether it is good or not, though, I would assume that the cornering would be easier on a track with RWS...some reviews on youtube seem to have RWS on board but I would strongly doubt that it can be felt somehow...
