Re: 997 Facelift - Official Specs

Any estimates of what the price increase maybe?

    I am assuming 4 -6K USD

Re: 997 Facelift - Official Specs

WHEN will the new options list be released?! And when will you be able to 'build your porsche' with the new options on their website?! They are slacking! :@

    Ron,

...either some Russian web site... ...or some USA car magazine web site(last time Road and track break the 997TT embargo first)...

Re: 997 Facelift - Official Specs

Till then enjoy pic for AZ... New Carrera S II wheels(ugly IMHO)...

Re: 997 Facelift - Official Specs

Cool shot, hadn't seen this one before .

Re: 997 Facelift - Official Specs

    Sweet!

Re: 997 Facelift - Official Specs

those wheels look cool - much better than the old standard ones

I don't think they are ugly, but perhaps they don't look special enough...

Re: 997 Facelift - Official Specs

Nice wheels but glad I ordered the carrera sports!!!

Re: 997 Facelift - Official Specs

I don't think these wheels are ugly, but they wouldn't be my first choice. I think the ride height and off set look off, which make the wheels look even worse.

    Agreed.

Re: 997 Facelift - Official Specs

plus look quite dirty and no centre caps :P

Re: 997 Facelift - Official Specs

    still no fricking rear photo

Re: 997 Facelift - Official Specs

a curious QUESTION?? why RC knows everything about porsche..? he works in the factory?

BTW he can KEEP US INFORMED, like ALWAYS!

Re: 997 Facelift - Official Specs

No, he does not. But he has lots of secret sources therein. He is like Hansel and Gretle (well maybe just Hansel) in that he give us little bread crums to keep us moving down the Porsche new release path while keeping us in suspense for the big press day release the whole time. This can be frustrating, but perhaps makes it all the more interesting.

They look like quite the standard Cayman wheel.

Or the ones from Schnitzer or the F430 wheel or like Novitec rims...

Re: 997 Facelift - Official Specs

"Wie aus Zuffenhausen zu hören ist, ist das 3,6-Liter-Coupé mit PDK im Sprint von null auf Tempo 100 zwei Zehntelsekunden schneller als die Version mit Handschaltgetriebe. Bestwert: 4,7 Sekunden. Und mit der zusätzlich erhältlichen Launch Control soll es sogar noch zwei Zehntel schneller vorangehen."

    0-100 km/h :4,5 sec Carrera 3.6 PDK LC?????

Re: 997 Facelift - Official Specs

yes, that is what it says. 4.5 for PDK with launch control, 4.7 for PDK without launch control.
But it doesn't say if this is with one of the new DI engines.

Those are the numbers for the new model, therefore equipped with DI engine. Obviously the S-model would result in something like 4.3 sec. Not that it'd matter to me...

Re: 997 Facelift - Official Specs

I'd be very happy with 4.3 secs - I think the wheels on the silver C4 are the new carrera IV std wheel??

    after about 2 days thinking....

    NO ONE!

    4,5 WITH LC is AMAZING.

maybe because its a porsche they are always waiting something out of world! and it is....

Re: 997 Facelift - Official Specs

Could Porsche eventually use the carbon ceramic clutch in manual and even dual clutch models? I asked this myself a couple nights ago before going to sleep.

Re: 997 Facelift - Official Specs

Carbon clutch in 911 would be a nightmare of unhappy customers. Definitely no in the regular car, maybe far away in the future as a pricely option.

Just think how many people were unhappy with the CGT for purely the clutch reasons. Now how would that work out with a car which sells 35000 units per year?

Ferdie, I think 4.3sec, is too optimistic...but hey, it could be completely possible with PDK+LC

If its like this, it'll be probably one of the only atmospheric engines in that bhp range, that can accelerate in 4.3sec 0-100kph

As for that carrera 4S FL pic from the rear, its very clear, they are going to put the 9964S red rear stripe...at least that's what it looks like, from that pic !!!.....how would that red stripe match with those new rear lights??????????
