    Pick up my turbo tomorrow!

    Just thought I'd post my thoughts of anticipation here - i went to the dealer today after the car being delivered, still all stickered and covered up, had a quick peek...

    Now i'm even more excited about tomorrow, got to go at about 3pm to pick it up, and I cant wait! dont know how i'll be able to sleep tonight, and then wait the few hours once I am awake till i get the keys!

    I'll post photo's tomorrow if I get time!

    congrats....don't worry about stepping on it after taking it easy for a 100-200 miles to break-in the tires and seat the brakes....

    I understand that you mustn't go over 4k rpm for the first 2k miles for break in, is this compulsory, ie have you all done this or is it a bit over the top?

    How long before I can start putting my foot to the floor?

    JUST 3.5 HOURS TO GO!

    I hit the redline 7200rpm at 400 miles ommthe clock and nothing happened, oh yeah apart from the fact that once the hit the redline the engine starts to jerk a bit

    MY advice? Shift every five minutes for the first 200 miles. I'm not sh*tting you. Piston rings need _varied_ engine speed to seat. Every five minutes isn't extreme.

    Congratulations - enjoy your new car - I am still in my break in period too and enjoying every minute. ACCIDENTLY (LOL) went over the 4200 rpms by abit just a few times. Couldn't help myself. Remember to post some pics.

    Hi,

    congratulations on your new car. What a great feeling for sure. Picked mine up yesterday and still smiling. I had a read of the manual last night and i cant see any reference to 4200 RPM.

    It talks about tips for running in and makes reference to 3000 KM's. Preferably take longer trips and avoid high engine speeds, especially when the engine is cold.

    Enjoy and post some pics when you can.

    Haha you're right, I have been driving the car, and nothing else! Have done nearly 400 miles in about 3 days - the noise of hearing the turbo's whistling is just great!

    Unfortunately no pictures as yet, but will promise to take some the minute we get some good weather and I can get the car washed!
