    Favourite bodykit

I don't plan to do this for a year or so, but my favourite bodykit currently is the Techart II kit:

    ...nearly $16k though

My second favourite is the Rinspeed bodykit as seen at Geneva:

But I am not sure about the rear.

The GT2 kit would also be a consideration.

Here are a few pics from Geneva of other examples I posted over on TeamSpeed: http://www.teamspeed.com/forums/997-turbo/3182-geneva-997s.html

Be interested to know your thoughts

    Re: Favourite bodykit

I like GTStreet kit but without the giant rear spoiler.

I wonder how that would look that way?

    Re: Favourite bodykit

So far no bodykit for the current gen Porsche sportscars left me overly impressed, albeit some models do offer the chance to improve the overall appearance with subtle aftermarket modifications.

    the Techart II kit

Judging from above posted pictures the TechArt kit looks less balanced than the version for the 996 model. Not too fond of its looks although a darker colour would take away some of its overly obvious design cues.

It's in fact the first Rinspeed product that appears to be executed by a design professional, albeit a little busy at particular elements.

    Re: Favourite bodykit

I like the Techart rear spoiler - GT2esque, but the rear bumper has slots for the exhaust that look like afterthoughts at best

    Re: Favourite bodykit

The techart spoiler is very clever, can't say the same for the rest of the car.

Favourite kits are OEM GT2 conversion for the turbo, or RUF. Techart is a bit gauche.

    Re: Favourite bodykit

that front end is " wicked "

    Re: Favourite bodykit

Excuse the awful pictures, but I saw this 997TT @ my marina on Friday. It had the Techart kit and looked quite nice

    Re: Favourite bodykit

wow, the Techart kit looks awesome in those pics!
I'd love to see how they look in a colour like Estoril blue tho... I'd take the techart no doubt tho

    Re: Favourite bodykit

    ...lol...much better than standard IMO

    Re: Favourite bodykit

Heck, anybody know where I can get the 997 version of this bodykit? (joking)

    Re: Favourite bodykit

Plenty of down-force, both aerodynamically and WEIGHT!!

I visited JFK CV-67 ten years ago and I remember seeing one of these parked on the deck .

    Re: Favourite bodykit

Here's a body kit to die for!

    Re: Favourite bodykit

My fav is TA type II with GT street rockers...
Thoose Rinspeed wheels look nice are they forged?

    Re: Favourite bodykit

the Techart II kit looks really good because it's not over the top and it fits the design nicely! go for it!

Wait what color is your TT?

    Re: Favourite bodykit

Alex_997TurboRSC remember just one thing: you will never ever get your money back for the kit, when you are going to resell the car. I ahd only just one car up to now with the kit and I will never ever have another one. so my advice it will be not to do it. By the way my car was a Mercedes 190.

    Re: Favourite bodykit

Who says I ever want to sell my car? I already have a Cargraphic powerkit, HRE wheels, and wheel realignment - each a step closer to make my idea of the perfect 911 Turbo. I wouldn't get my money back on any of those things.

The direction Porsche are taking the 911 Turbo doesn't warrant me losing 25% of the cars value over 2 years (typical trade in here given 2 year warranty in UK) to get a weaker engine and a transmission that can't be tuned.

So tuning/bodykits are for my enjoyment - not anyone else's

    Well said.

    Re: Favourite bodykit

Just added this up - £14k before tax.  So as tax was 17.5% at the time of this quote that makes a grand total of £16,500 (nearly $25k)

Now the GBP has crashed against the EUR it's probably 1/3 more!

That's just an insane amount of money to try to charge people...

What's genuinely worrying though is that you seem to have a morbid facination with these crazy spolier cars, so much so that you have an entire collection at your fingertips at all times - just in case you need a fix!!smiley00011.gif

This is half of an used 3 year old 997 in UK. In other words, thats the price of half a used Porsche in comparisson to some plastic parts.

    Thats a lot!
