    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

Whether a car depreciates is irrelevant. I don’t buy mass produced cars. I buy care that hold their value though they experience some depreciation. What’s important is what the dealer is will to buy it back for. That depends on the market at the time I sell it back. For an example I’ll sell my .2 GT3 soon after my RS is built on July 20th. The car will not be delivered until middle of September. The second batch of GT3 allocations should be announced in September or October. My dealer should be able to get a good price on my car and give me a fair valuation for my car. All the profit will good to my dealer.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

The funny thing is, the actual production would end up the same or even lower if these cars were made available to anyone who wanted one.

No one would pay a $100k premium if he could get it after a short time, many of the current (most) buyers get them because they see it as a money making opportunity (hence so many cars with delivery mileage only), if there is a negligible chance of that, they would lose interest.

I suspect the actual number of real buyers who want a car like this , use it, track it, enjoy it and put miles on it, is significantly lower then the current production numbers are.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

hope the factory will screw up every flippers and just give more allocations to dealers.indecision

Mark-up tends to cool down though as mentioned by several resalers that one of my friend is in touch. 2 ''car company'' sold a total of 20 cars combined since the launch angry but not moving much since few weeks.

he wants a car so he is looking around to get the cheapest one possible... what a shame.

I fully agree. The current situation is distorted by all the speculation created by Porsche. They will get screwed badly in the next downturn as many move to the competition these days.

Exactly what we have discussed a few months back. The market for a car in such a price bracket is only 1000-1500 max in the world.

Mike, I did not google the name because I don’t care. Your car was of interest to me and that’s it. You mention a name which I thought was close and important to you. I wanted an explanation from you why you referenced the individual. No big deal at least until someone wanted to make an issue of it.crying

Definitely not a random internet guy.

OK, to be honest, I didn't have a clue who Brian Redman is but I live in Germany and I bet that 99% of the Porsche enthusiasts over here don't have a clue either.

I googled him, he is an interesting guy, so everything is good. Nick needs to work on his Google skills, other than that, I really don't see a problem.

Brian never won a race and his last competition was 44 years ago. He made it to the podium once. No surprise that no one heard of him. No disrespect in any way, I am sure he is the greatest of guys, but for everyone who are not 70+ he is a random Internet guy.

I would say 99% of modern Porsche owners. That would not apply to vintage or air cooled 911 owners.  Redman won the Targa Florio in 1970 which was at that time one of the most important races where Porsche won 11 times (in 1957 the first time and in 1973 the last time).  Porsche has a beautiful history with amazing achievements and great drivers and Redman is one of them.
