340-360 bhp from a turbo seems pointless engineering to me, when they have a perfectly compatible N/A engine in that power band. I would much prefer a detuned GT3 motor

I known but remember that the 911 is Porsche's holy grail and they are very caution with models like the Cayman since they don't want the cayman to dethrone the 911.

I think you have been correct up to now... but I wonder if the fact that the Cayman appears to be gradually finding its market (perhaps at expense of Boxster as in B-forum thread) might give P some more courage to experiment with moving it up-power a bit. Strong 911 sales especially in new markets China/India etc. may mean that 911 does not need sheltering any more, and future 911 buyers will increasingly be after the "classic 911" icon and not necessarily the best driving machine.
Also the fact that Audi has sold R8s well into the future - could an uber-Cayman have taken some of these sales?? Porsche still has by far the most daily-usable mid engine platform to build from ... so why not try a few things?

If I wanted more power in a Cayman S, I would go with the Ruf K (Supercharger) conversion.....400hp - 325lbs. torgue

No, the quoted price is Euro 80,000 + VAT. before extras.

But one of the extras is a complete Cayman S, which luwalira had probably included in the amount of Euro 200,000, so maybe you are not so far apart.

The conversion is Euro 22,500. The price I mentioned is for a complete car with Ruf VIN Number.

I think it's well within the realm that Porsche will come with a higher performing cayman, maybe even a small turbo!
