    Re: Seinfeld's 993 Turbo S for sale at $225,000

LOL... "We just hope the buyer doesn't find out it was actually owned by a dentist who just happens to be named Jerry Seinfeld, too."

    Re: Seinfeld's 993 Turbo S for sale at $225,000

Awesome car, but someone has to remove those unsightly US-spec bumperettes...

    Re: Seinfeld's 993 Turbo S for sale at $225,000

And lower the price by 40%...

That won't make any difference for me

    Re: Seinfeld's 993 Turbo S for sale at $225,000

Why on earth would he be selling this car?! That interior is gorgeous, could use some new seats though.

    Re: Seinfeld's 993 Turbo S for sale at $225,000

Saw him on some day-in-the-life documentary a few years ago. He was at a Porsche Swap Meet and remarked in no uncertain terms how "stupid" this Porsche hobby we all have is.

I guess maybe he's selling out or culling his inventory.

Seriously, I can see how easily it could be to lose interest in these things especially with traffic and "stupid" speed limits and their enforcement in the USA.

Heck, there's lots more to do in life when your net worth is a few hundred million.

    Re: Seinfeld's 993 Turbo S for sale at $225,000

I'm pretty sure he hasn't lost interest. He owns many Porsches (dozens) and often buys/sells. This 993TTS is a nice car, but he owns MANY cars that are much nicer and more valuable.

Although he said the hobby is stupid, I think he was just admitting how stupid he was for being so obsessed...

    Re: Seinfeld's 993 Turbo S for sale at $225,000

Is it for sale again or has it been for sale for quite a while? I think I saw this car being for sale about 9 months ago or something like that.

Yeah..., sounds reasonable..., you're most likely right Grant. Good explanation.

    Re: Seinfeld's 993 Turbo S for sale at $225,000

Guys... it says at the end that owner is some other guy named Jerry Seinfeld... a dentist in California!

Family first - he's got that, work - not needed, hobby - why not cars, and with his money he can drive them whereever he wants.

I have seen the figure of 70 porsches in his collection. incl. cgt

    Re: Seinfeld's 993 Turbo S for sale at $225,000

    Here is part of the extent of his hobby;

Would you park a vintage Porsche on a New York City street? Neither would Jerry Seinfeld. The comedian/car enthusiast is now building his private dream garage just blocks from his Manhattan penthouse, The Smoking Gun has learned. Documents show that Seinfeld's swanky little carpark will be outfitted with terrazzo floors (!), wood paneling, "cabinet storage systems," stainless steel shelving, a new skylight, and a heating/air conditioning system (as if those rides aren't cool enough).
The Seinfeld garage is rather small--just 16' x 52'--and previously housed a plumbing & heating contractor. In March 1999, a Seinfeld company (Medici, LLC) bought the two-story property for $880,000 in cash. New York City Department of Buildings filings show Medici's officers to be Jerry's sister, Carolyn Liebling (president), and Seinfeld himself as vice president.

By TSG estimates, the Seinfeld garage--now undergoing a gut renovation as these pictures show--can likely hold no more that 20 automobiles. The West 83rd Street building features a heavy duty elevator which can shuttle autos between the garage's cellar and ground floor (the property's second floor is not designed for car storage). The current renovation, carrying an estimated $500,000 pricetag, includes a major spruce up of the garage's top floor, according to these detailed architectural plans filed with the buildings department.

Upstairs, Jerry will soon have a carpeted, 844-square-foot office with a curved (some might call it undulating) ceiling. He'll get to that space via a new, rather fancy, glass and metal staircase. Next to the office is a brand new "kitchenette." And next to that is a new bathroom with a shower (apparently Porsches can be rather dirty). Finally, there is an outdoor deck off of Seinfeld's office that's being fitted with stone pavers, documents show.

You miss the joke.... It is the Comedian Seinfeld's car, but they are refering to an episode of Seinfeld where George bought a car who was previously owned by a guy named John Voight, not the actor:

Yes namesake Jo_h_n Voight, not the actor J_o_n Voight owned the Le Baron George bought. This was proven (or not) by the chewed up teeth marks in the glove compartmented pencil which was matched to the bite mark in Kramer's arm made by the real Jon Voight.

Don't confuse the dentist Jo_h_n Voight with the Dentist Dr. Wadley in the "anti-dentite" show with Robert Wagner, also a dentist (that makes three with Dr. Wadley) and father of the little person "Mickey" who was getting married when Jerry discovers his girlfriend hates blacks and jews.

Very simple stuff to understand if you've seen the show 350 times.
