2009 MY Info (nothing new)
I am trying to decide between a MY '08 and MY '09 and thought I would summarize (again). Sorry if this is tired subject, but being new here it is still pretty exciting to me. Please tell me what I have wrong.
If there are changes for 2009, they will likely be minor (except for the last one):
Regarding the timing:
Decision time for me... All things being equal, I will just wait two months for a 2009. But all things are not equal because I don't want a car without the GT1 crankcase and I would miss most of the summer. The dilemma is that it will likely be close to impossible to spec a 2008 after the 2009 information and order guides are released. I know most will tell me to get it now and never look back.
If there are changes for 2009, they will likely be minor (except for the last one):
- High beams going from reflector to projector
- LED tail lights with a little different shape
- Probable updated SAT NAV
- Possible minor bump in power
- DFI unlikely
- Possible nothing will change until mid-2009 or even 2010
- Possible elimination of GT1 crankcase with the new engine based on M97 or some other variant
Regarding the timing:
- June completion dates with mid-July deliveries are plentiful
- There are discounts on MY '08's on the lots but not common for ordered cars.
- MY '09 build spots have not been allocated; the lists for 2009's are still pretty short most places
- MY '09 builds start in August and would be delivered in September
- Anticipate order guides in late May or June
