why is it so hard for people to accept the 7:38 GTR time, when its been confirmed as a stock car ?
I would have said that Evo were unbiased (although a porsche has won ECOTY for the last 5 years or so!) they seem to really rate the GTR
cheers

It's hard to accept because it's physically impossible. I believe it can break 7:50, but I just don't buy 7:38. I want to see a dyno-tested, stock car do it, not a test mule (with god knows how many bhp). Beating a 997TT isn't really hard with its current setup and nobody is really doubting the fact that the GT-R can be even significantly faster, but the NBR is also a high-speed track and the GT-R, in its stock form, is relatively slow above 200 km/h. That being said, I would love for the Nissan programmers to design a program for the 997TT PTM.

don't porsche publish their own lap times (rather than an independent ?)
I also doubt that the stock GTR is pushing out 470bhp, people are saying that its 470 at the wheel

I have a hard time with the GT-R being 9 secs faster than a Lambo SL or F430 (not scud).
I do believe the GT-R is faster than the 997TT though.

Just a small correction...
Sport Auto Ring time:
Ferrari F430F1 7.55min
997 Turbo 7.52min
Gallardo SL 7.46min
In best case GT-R will be at Gallardo SL level but, we will see that result in one year time...
