Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

Oh boy....we've got our work cut out for us.

900 Factory Collection: european delivery where you go to pick up your Turbo from the factory.

Since you're obviously interested in leather, I would suggest adding a bunch of leather options such as

CUV - Storage Compartment Lid w/ model logo
    CFA - Tiptronic gate leather
XMZ - Rear Center Console in leather
XZD - Dome lamp cover in leather
XTV - Door finishers in leather
CFP - Tip handbrake lever Alu/Lthr

I would delete 459 and add:

431 3-spoke steering wheel multifunction leather with CPA - thicker 3 spoke multifunction wheel

I would also delete: CVZ BOSE subwoofer outlets leather since you won't really be able to see this because it's behind the rear seats.

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

    Ok no factory delievery then

for 431 , is the center of steering wheel full leather?

Also did anyone see any CNC and CNW optioned Turbo in real life? Does it look good and different than the regular?

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

You'd still need to keep "CDW" for the "Y-trim" to be covered by leather with 431.

I wouldn't get CNC and CNW. I haven't seen CNC in real life but I know exactly what it would look like. I've seen CNW before and it's a nice touch but hardly necessary. The black vanes in the grille won't be quite so obvious especially on a black car. IMHO, those vanes never looked good to begin with and making them silver will make it look worse.

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

    VGA,
Are you sure about the aerokit? If you have any doubts, Id say loose it. The rear wing looks horrible. The front spoiler is a bit too much... I'd rather go for GT2 look then. Otherwise; nice specs!

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

yah I dont like the kit either,

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

The reason why i put aerokit is , i want the car look a little bit different than the regular Turbo. I really wonder how CNW and CNC look in Atlas Grey color.

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

I won't comment on interior options, since Jason has got that covered.

If you want a different-looking Turbo, put your money in a non-standard color, rather than the aerokit, or the alu-painted grilles.
We might also consider some interior customization.

Let's try to narrow down what you may do. What kind of color would you consider? Are you trying to make a loud statement, or want to be subtly different?

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

IMHO do NOT get that aluminized Grille. Looks very odd "retro." Reminds me of these deformed monsters.(sorry)

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

Stock Alcantara roofliner is hard to improve upon. I think leather is equal or a notch below, looks wise. Will also suffer a scratch less.

Bluntly stated: Seatbelts are ugly and sloppy, why call attention to them? (get black)

    here's leather:

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

Leather roof liner is actually recommended with cocoa (and also terracotta, carrera red and natural brown), because the Alcantara roof liner is black...

(The nitpicky will point out that stone grey, natural grey and ocean blue come with a dark grey Alcantara roof liner, but it's not as noticeable. )

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

I've always stayed away from park assist bumpers. 635 equipped bumpers will be more expensive to repair if damaged...

...yet the point of park assist is to keep your bumpers from damages...but just my .02

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

I'd skip the CD changer. I know very few Porsche owners who are glad they ordered the CD changer, and a few who got the CD changer and took it out. I'd go with the Dension instead and play from your iPod.

Personally, I don't care for the aerokit but that's purely personal taste.

I got leather seats backs on my adaptive sports seats. I didn't care for the look of the plastic seat backs that come with those seats.

Also, consider the thick steering wheel. It feels a lot better in your hands.

I don't care for the parking assist -- not very aesthetic in my view.

    My 0.02.

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

    Thanks everyone.

I will consider the cd changer and the sterring wheel.

Btw when will the Turbo get LED tail lights.

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

I like the parking assist. It isn't as obvious as the ones on the 996 and works fairly well. I found it to be useful especially when backing up. It's a bit hard to judge the distance out back and backing into a wall could be easy to do.

Agreed about skipping the CD changer but you'd have to get the dealership to activate the CD changer option via their diagnostic unit in order to get the iPod interface to work.

Rumors have it that the 2009 Turbo will get the LEDs tailights but that hasn't been officially confirmed yet.

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

Parking assist is not a big deal looks-wise on darker cars. Ligher cars show the sensors more making them look like rivets or bolts (needless clutter).

When car's parked and you're away it would be well worth it if PA was _active_ and flashed brake lights when the other guy gets too close..., but noooooooooooooooo.

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

Jason - do you have side by side images of the steering wheel options in full leather?

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

    Eric,

I posted those a while back but here they are again:

Multifunction steering wheel with thicker rims (431 + CPA)

    Standard Multifunction steering wheel

    Thicker standard sport wheel (XPA)

Multifunction steering wheel with aluminum look (XPV)

And of course my very own Techart steering wheel w/ CF

    Multifunction version

I don't have more online at the moment but anyone else feel free to post. We're missing these:

    1) Multifunction with carbon fiber
    2) Triangle non-multifunction wheel
    3) Standard non-thick steering wheel

VGA, I suggest that if possible, you go to a deal and check out what the parking assist looks like. Some people, like my friend Jason, think it's not very noticeable. My opinion was otherwise -- so look before you buy.

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

Here's an-easy-to-compare pic showing the diff between thin and thick wheel:

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

Brad's right...they're not as noticable on darker colored colors as they would be on lighter colored cars.

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

    Multifunction with alcantara trim

Re: What about this 997 Turbo combination

Thanks for the help...I found a few more versions

Standard sport wheel with alcantara thicker rims

    Techart version with alcantara
