    Who has had his clutch replaced?

    Can you please fill out the poll , my OPC pretends that most 997S have to replace their clutch before they reach 60.000 km.

    I have today after 30,000 miles but it never needed replacing. I know that sounds strange but it was done as part of a problem finding exercise by the dealer. As they were unsure of the cause of the issue I was having they changed the clutch FOC.

    Interesting. The C2S has a new self-adjustable clutch. Does the 3.6L Carrera (which has a traditional clutch) also have this problem?

    I have now 55000 km and no clutch problem... but I am in the process of changing the gear box !!!!
    Should I ask my dealer if all Carrera need a gear box change at 50000 ?

    Most of the gearbox replacements are user related, although this is impossible to prove.

    A coincidence I think. I currently have a Gearbox on order after 30,000 miles albeit it was need nearer 20,000 miles. Just took that long for the dealer to assess that I could have a gearbox problem.

    ok it's a boxster, but I'm only considering changing the clutch at... 185000km...

    Having to change a clutch every 60000km is a joke, of course

    Mine scratches ( the sincros) when changing gear from 1st to 2nd, and 3rd to 4th mainly, and doing it fast, and only on VERY cold mornings for about 5 min. As soon as the engine is a little bit warm it stops.

    It only matters how you drive it (or fry it).

    I had 90K miles on my 996 and it never needed a clutch. All of my old 911 (6) had 100K miles + and never needed a clutch.

    It's just a matter of preserving the car and clutch.
