    Some things.

Picked up the car late on Friday. Drove down to another part of the country early Saturday for a short break and to put some miles on it. Typically it rained for about 24 hours but managed to get over 400 miles clocked up. Now nearly all of this was motorway driving in 6th gear at 2000 rpm, so when I got back today I decided to stretch it a little bit, so I drove about 30 miles a lot more spiritedly. Never went over 4500 revs but did push the car a bit.
    Right or wrong?

Early Saturday, on the motorway (M25 for the UK people here) with less than a hundred miles on the clock I hear BANG! A big stone gets thrown up from a lorry in front of me and crashes into the roof! I almost couldn't bear to look but yes, I have a glaring white stonechip front/centre of my beautiful new black roof. My girlfriend says you can't even see it but to me it looks like a moon crater, I could see it from space. It's the frustration isn't it? There's no one to scream at, it's nobodies fault, it's just one of those things.

And finally, I got home, felt pretty tired, watched some sport on the telly and then went into the kitchen to wash my hands. Looked out the window and BOOM!!!! There it is on the drive, I'd forgotten momentarily that I had it, what a great feeling. I've had Porches before but never the Turbo, waited a long time and worked a lot of hours for this baby. Damn it feels good!!!

HAHA. I remember that feeling well.

I also remember waking up in the middle of the night, going to the garage and sitting in the car in my pajamas! (luckily I was NOT making "vroom vroom" sounds while wrenching the wheel back and forth)

    Congratulations!

    Re: Some things.

Assuming it's not dented too, just go and pick up an 8 quid touch-up paint stick at your OPC. No more crater!!

All my paint chips have been in areas where clear-bra wouldn't have helped. So I am glad I saved some PoundsPoundsPoundsPounds and didn't bother.

My Turbo is in the shop right now getting RS-Tuning powerkit and re-alignment. Only been a few days but boy do I miss it (takes 10 days for the ECU to go to Germany and back).

Congrats on the new car though. Pictures when you can please!!

    Re: Some things.

Alex, what gains are you expecting from the powerkit?

    MASSIVE gains!!

...620Nm torque to 800Nm is a huge leap up the g-force ladder

The Cargraphic 3.6 RSC (with my powerkit) was recently recorded by SportsAuto:

    0-100 km/h: 3.3 secs.
    0-160 km/h: 6.8 secs.
    0-200 km/h: 10.4 secs.

    Alex,
Really looking forward to your opinions on this, especially the re-alignment.Have you and Parr deceided on which settings you are going to use?, ie GT3 or other?.When do you get the car back?.Mine should be here within the next 4 weeks, the sooner the better really, as ive been having irrational thoughts as to just how much money i am spending, and maybe i should bail out now.Still, you are only here once, and its only money.Regards, SIMON.

Having Parr's own 'fast-road' geometry setup - they won't tell me what those changes are, just that they are not GT3 ones.

Should get the car back end of this coming week but given it's Easter coming up it might be the week afterward.

    Re: Some things.

Thats awesome another great feeling is when your going for a spirited drive and all time momentarily freezes and its just you and your car and a winding road.

    Re: Some things.

Well you can look at it this way after you get over the initial shock and disappointment: Now it's just a "beater" so let 'er rip! No need for babying it any longer.

Keyed 5 times?!??!?! I heard folks in the U.K. can have a bad attitude towards nice cars but that is ridiculous. It's a real shame that people are that angry about their lives.
