Re: Tata (!!!) Ferrari: Where Is Nick?

Japs is short for Japanese...you fking kidding me? I don't think people of Japanese descent would agree with you. Hey since you're Chinese and "chings and slant-eye" don't offend you then more power to you. So when was the last time you use the N-word in front of black people.

    Cool it. Seriously.

Re: Tata (!!!) Ferrari: Where Is Nick?

Guys, instead if trashing the thread take it to PM if you want to, but cool it, those sort of posts are not allowed. Back to topic please.

Also lex, if you feel a comment in a post is not adecuate, you notify the moderators and we will decide what to do if anything needs to be done, you don't take it upon yourself to moderate and create a flame war, which is not taken kindly here.

Re: Tata (!!!) Ferrari: Where Is Nick?

My apologies to all board members for going off topic

All is well lex, its very easy to do with such a multicultural mix we have here comunicating in written form, but we must try to avoid public personal conflicts for everyone's benefit. Thank you for understanding

MMD, I don't think the plan is to move production ot India. I hope not!!!

The problem I see is this: Although all companies exist to make money, will Tata Ferrari decide to make money the Toyota way (boring perfection), or the Porsche way (perfect perfection )? The issue with Tata is not its country of origin, but the nature of its existence. Does it care about the incredible vision and passion that make Ferrari, Ferrari? Well, Tata makes low-cost trucks, no?

Someone corrects me if I am wrong, but doesn't that new Ferrari 149 simply an altered version of both the Maserati Gran Turismo *AND* the Alfa Romeo coupe?
Where is the exclusivity that Nick always "teases" Porsche owners with? Is this a (bad?) result of being bought by Fiat? All 911's look the same, but at least it doesn't look like a Scirocco.

Oops, I have nothing against workers from various parts of the world.

What I do have a prejudice against is workers of any origin who can't do things perfectly.

I mean _perfectly_. Almost anybody can get something 80% right after lots of practice and training.

BUT to get something 100% right, like they do in Ferrari Land..., well..., that's going to be nearly impossible to find anywhere else on the planet. Gonna take decades to develop/cultivate; IMO.

I mean think about it: EVERY aspect of that F-car has to be perfect. The engine castings, the leather, the electronics, the freeking paint!

IMO, even Porsche is not as perfect as Ferrari.

The Indian ownership does not bother me as much as the 149 model. It is nothing more than a blatant attempt for Ferrari to increase their profits even though it compromises its exclusivity. I wrote several months ago I was becoming concerned that Ferrari was beginning to emulate Porsche. If that happens why in the hell should I pay Ferrari prices when I can pay Porsche prices.

    Just basic economics Nick

It's just too hard for a small output manufacturer to stay in the black, Ferrari, with the backing of Fiat, is still bleeding money if my memory serves me right. Aston is the last of the prestige brand to be independent outside of Porsche, and how long it will last without the backing of Ford is still up in the air.

For Ferrari to survive in the long term, it will need to expand it's market reach, the 149 is one of the tools to do that, it's one of the necessary evil, just be thankful they haven't consider a Ferrari SUV yet

Okay guys, calm down and let's all get back to bashing Nick, please.

    Just kidding.

Re: Tata (!!!) Ferrari: Where Is Nick?

An acquisition of that nature would signal the end of Ferrari's appeal around the world.

Its not racism, its simply Tata (show me your Tata's) has never produced a car that has been successful in the first world. Just watch as Jag and Land Rover go down the tubes.

Its no different than if a Chinese company or Cerberus (Chrysler) acquired Ferrari.....

Re: Tata (!!!) Ferrari: Where Is Nick?

Maybe the 149 will let the rest of us get into the family without having to buy a used car first.

    Tom,

Or you could have the Maserati GranTurismo S for much less money, for perhaps the same car. LOL. Upon further reading, I still find something "fishy" about the Ferrari 149/Alfa Romeo Competizione/Maserati GranTurismo S triplets. Somehow they remind me of the Chevrolet/Buick/Oldsmobile three head monsters GM used to feed its customers.
There is really a Porsche God watching Nick's numerous repetitive posts about all 911's looking the same.

Kidding aside, I've seen the GranTurismo in person, like a majority of exotic Italian sport cars, it is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. Apparently car was penned by the same guy who did the 599. I mean, it REALLY has stunningly beautiful proportion and body curves. Alas, it is no Porsche Turbo. Not fast enough & since it has a big long nose, I don't believe it will feel as small/nimble.

    Rossi,

Grin. Best post of the thread! I know that you are kidding but really the intention never was to "bash" Nick. Needling yes, harrassing, definitely no. After all, reading Nick's last post, I wouldn't be surprised he's eyeing PAG's car catalog at this very moment. And yes, I did find this bit of news too "precious" to ignore.

Re: Tata (!!!) Ferrari: Where Is Nick?

    Can,

Agreed on the GranTurismo, she really is gorgeous. Maserati has managed to create a masterpiece like no other cars on the road in its own right. The interior is unparalleled in its design and characteristics.

    Beautiful gearshift knob

Standing in front of the car, you know you're in the presence of something special

Re: Tata (!!!) Ferrari: Where Is Nick?

Coming of the autospies I woldn't believe this. The autospies is one of the websites that creates most rumours just to get people loging to theyr site.
