Porsche #1 Car Builder In the World

The VW-Porsche deal wich would give Porsche control of a 11 marque automotive industrial empire will make Porsche the largest car company in the world.

As Ugandas notorious Idi Dada Amin said "Let your dreams become your rights!"

Piech's Unstoppable Passion! Click Here !

You have to admire Herr Piech for his vision and plan!

Re: Porsche #1 Car Builder In the World

UK journalism at its lowest. After reading Pieech described as Lord, King, Godfather, a serially polygamous, genetically crypto-Nazi billionaire, the rest of the "article" is mere blather.

Re: Porsche #1 Car Builder In the World

British press at its finest .

Re: Porsche #1 Car Builder In the World

VW is far from being the largest car company. GM is, and Toyota a close second. VW is in trouble now and needs to cut a lot of fat. In the US ai would not buy a current VW... there are far better offerings out there.

Re: Porsche #1 Car Builder In the World

    Ye of little faith!

Re: Porsche #1 Car Builder In the World

I would not buy a US-market VW either. They need to fix the quality standards at their Mexican plant. The USD/EUR exchange rate will keep German-made VWs from the US market for a long time, though...

Re: Porsche #1 Car Builder In the World

British journalism just isn't what it used to be

Re: Porsche #1 Car Builder In the World

Actually Toyota is currently the largest.

We have a Mexican built Beetle in the family for 3 1/2 years now and the quality is excellent.

I had a friend who was GM mechanic about 10 years ago. They used to get lots of Mexican-built cars in for water leaks. As they pulled out the carpet and sound insulation they would find rivets and cigarette butts and stuff. Hopefully they have improved since then.

So.. no takeover after all ?

It's the 75% figure they are disputing. Not the fact that they're going above 50%.

Is there anything in the Koran about having affairs with one's cousin's wife?

Give him full credit. He also got his cousins maid pregnant.

Piech likes having many brands, many women and paying for many kids birthday parties-12 a year! Is his stealth car a 80's Porsche powered Vanagon??

How do all of those now grown up kids park their cars at his house at Christmas time? Or is their a shuttle bus to his house?

Re: Porsche #1 Car Builder In the World

I met one of his kids at Porsche Driving School.
    He is 22 and already has a GT3 :P

Jim, With the salary Piech gets from Porsche, i believe he got plenty of space for all the kids' cars

My comments apply equally to EU-built VWs. Sorry!

Fix Wikipedia! GM is still the largest. Perhaps for not much longer, but today, still the largest. Sorry if you wanted Toyita to be it.

Re: Porsche #1 Car Builder In the World

doesn't effect me one way or the other. I'm a fan of neither.
    ..but I'd check your information.
BTW, WW has said that VW will be challenging Toyota for the #1 spot.

Re: Porsche #1 Car Builder In the World

I remember rebuilding my VW engine years ago. I got a set of cylinders made in Mexico.

Freaked me out a bit but I accepted the real world fact that not everything can be made in Germany.

One of the cylinders had a small "X" scratched on the external surface at the base of the sleeve.

    I installed it anyway.

Turns out the cylinder was defective and I had to rebuild it a year or so later because that cylinder.

Sooooo, since then I go out of my way to avoid buying anything complicated (cars, appliances, etc) that's made in Mexico.

Is that wrong? Re-rebuilding that engine really wasn't fun.

Sorry if I'm adding to the world's collective grief caused by prejudice and misunderstanding.

Re: Porsche #1 Car Builder In the World

I was selling Porsche, Audi and VW in 1982 when we had a car come in complaining about noise in the door panels. When the mechanic opened the panel up there were wine bottles and somebodys left over lunch in the panel. Since all the labels were in German, we know it was factory installed. So much for German quailty.

Tell me about it. My 1995 Honda Civic had half eaten California rolls stuffed in the door panel. It didn't make any noise, but it sure smelled bad a few weeks after I took delivery of the car. Since California rolls are a popular item found only in restaurants in Japan, we're pretty sure this happened at the factory. So much for Japanese quality.
