Pics of my Z4M Coupe!
It's a Z4M Coupe and simply stunning!
So, after a few hundred miles, I'm totally in love with driving again. Last year I traded my Boxster for an R32 after a few bad experiences, not to mention a GT3 which was in a much worse state than I would have liked in my opinion!
Before buying, the test drives of the car only gave a flavour of what it can do and as I am currently keeping the engine under 5.5k rpm, I haven't had the opportunity to explore the upper end of the engines ability. Even though this is the case, I can quite firmly say, this is the most fun and exciting car I have owned in terms of driving experience.
I'm not a 100% happy with the occasional kangaroo when I come off the clutch too quickly but I suppose this is the CDV valve everyone keeps on talking about and is supposed to help those Americans who don't quite understand "stick shifts"...
It is just wonderful on twisties - I spent 3 -4 hours driving in the Borders today. The acceleration is stunning and the handling fantastic - I will fit a strut brace to stop the occasional direction changes when one wheel hits a bump but that's about it. And it's better at speed-bumps than my R32!
The BMW Ipod connection is pretty good for what it is, text of artist on the nav screen is good and it suits my needs. Base stereo could be better but that will be replaced this month at the first service.
I've washed the car a couple of times so far (novelty of being new and Interlagos shows up much more dirt than I'm used to coming from grey cars).
Bluetooth with the Iphone is excellent, you do have to shout though so you're heard over the engine - stereo upgrade should help!
Nav is good - great street name feature, same software as my old Mini Cooper S and better than the Porsche PCM.
Overall the car is excellent. With a great feel from the wheel and much better than my 987 Boxster in my opinion and similar to a 997 Porsche I was lucky enough to have for several hundred miles.
So, a lucky man and can't wait to get my first service!!
This has to be the bargain performance car of the century - all the fun of a TVR without the reliability issues. So ignore that fool of a man Jeremy Clarkson (must be to say this car was rubbish) and get yourself one of these before they stop making the, you won't regret it.
