    yes and no. they made interviews admiting that the sirocco (not the prototip) would be modified by them.

    Way past that. The design of a car is often finalized 3-5 years before launch.

    ...the overal shape not the details, if they had it finalized 5 years ago the front bumper would have that stupid grill on the front...

    What a fantastic looking car! I surely hope VW brings it to America. The pricing is the only aspect that will muddy it up. The R32 costs $32K USD here, and, for a car like the Scirocco, it had better not base out more than that. Hmmmmm for VW North America. Ponder. Ponder. Ponder.

    I was at the VW factory in Wolfsburg last week. They have a white Scirocco exhibited for their employees there. IMHO, it's the sportiest looking VW you can get at the moment. The trunk is pretty impractical. You have to be a body builder to lift things up and get them in there

    Thanks for the scans ewi.
    Is it a full brochure for the Scirocco that you were given or just a short preview? I may decide to replace my company car (GTi) with a Scirocco and would like to know a bit more about what the standard specification is. If there is more information in your brochure then I'd really appreciate you posting it.

    Jon, the brochure contains little technical data. Actually, it is just a folded poster on one side and some smaller pictures with marketing blah, blah on the other side. So, it contains less data than you have already posted above.
    The brochure mentions the following things:
    engines up to 147kW (200hp), TSI, fuel consumption 10,7/6,0/7,7l/100km (urban/extra-urban/combined), CO2 emissions 181g/km
    ESP
    options:
    18" Interlagos wheel, 235/40
    bi-xenon headlights
    panoramic sunroof
    chrome plated double tail pipes (in combination with 200hp engine only)

    VW's German web site says:
    6-speed DSG in combination with 200hp engine
    7-speed DSG in combination with 160hp engine

    Thanks you ewi. I have heard that in the UK you will only be able to order the 200bhp to begin with, and that there will be two specifications. One "comfort" spec with the 17" wheels and one "sports" spec with the 18's and alcantara seats.

    147kw just isnt competitive in this market any more. It needs more power and the 7spd DSG

    AFter seing it at the Geneva Autoshow , i take back everithing that i have said before about this car !

    Its a copy of the Volvo C30 just bigger with diferent lights

    As a former owner of 2 Scirocco's, it's rather disappointing. Looks like a slightly squashed golf so, what's the point?

    I've just read on the Bloomberg website that the new Scirocco is not coming to the US because of unfavorable exchange rates.
