    Re: Motortrend GT2 Review

wow... those are some crazy stats!

wondering how much would a used mint condition gt2 cost in 2010, planning to get one asap!

    Re: Motortrend GT2 Review

    Nice numbers

    Re: Motortrend GT2 Review

Did you guys have a listen to the video in that link?
At 57 seconds (the video has the time counting down - not up)the narrator states that the "GT2's power comes from a new innovative 3.2 litre engine."

    Re: Motortrend GT2 Review

    No actually i didn't. :O

    Re: Motortrend GT2 Review

this might be a bit off topic... o well,

anybody know the ground clearance for gt2? how different is it from say a gt3, the turbo, and the regular 911?

just considering the everyday drivability of this godly piece of machinery, hehe.

    Re: Motortrend GT2 Review

I lowered mine and still dont mind using it everyday.

It is 5mm higher than a GT3 which is exactly what I needed to get into my underground car park without scratching the front lip

    Re: Motortrend GT2 Review

Wow! Great article. Sounds like the GT2 takes the title of best all-around sports car from the TT.

    Re: Motortrend GT2 Review

Nick will spill his latte after reading that.

No, he'll just say that the GT2 will depreciate xx% in xx years while his Ferrari will hold xx% in xx years, how the Ferrari is way more exclusive, and totally sidestep the performance issue.

    Re: Motortrend GT2 Review

why don't they add Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) to the 911s? wouldn't it make the car more dynamic?

Actually it proves my point about Porsche as a company. The article claims that the GT2 is BETTER than the $450,000 CGT. That will make the owners of the CGT feel even better now that their car has bottomed out in depreciation. The GT2 may send it into a tailspin again. Very sad.

I am impressed with the performance of the Gt2 even though it looks like every other 911. It saving feature is they equpped it with PSM and that feature alone will mitigate against huge depreciation like the 996GT2. Nevertheless, it is old technology with manual transmission, Turbo charged and relatively heavy. In the near future, you will see most high perf sport cars weighing less than 3000lbs and primarily equipped with a F1 tranny. The GT2 has a very small market and after the initial scramble to get one , the car will fade like a dying light bulb.

And it will still eat any Ferrari alive!

Nick, you keep saying this but GT prices are still healthy. Technology moves on, just like the Scuderia is apparently just as fast as the Enzo around Fiorano.

Stating the GT2 was "better" than the CGT requires tremendous ignorance... It is impossible to compare these two cars

I would refuse reading any magazine writing such BS.

To start with, the GT2 will remain the best performing sports car with daily driver qualities for quite some time: Based on what we know today the GT2 is faster than the Scuderia, the all new LP 560-4 etc. The next threat (in terms of superior performance) could be the 430 successor. However, this car will not be available for another two years...

In the meantime (and maybe even afterwards): the GT2 is the king in the performance car sector

    LoL

    Re: Motortrend GT2 Review

GT2 is the king but with a limited availability and the huge mark ups it's outside my budget. I never liked the 996GT2 but I love the 997GT2. So for the time being I will stick with my 997TT which many now call clumsy, slow, unstable and food for Godzilla.........Nevertheless my car still gives me a full satisfaction

    Re: Motortrend GT2 Review

Me too and I can hardly wait for the snow to go so I can upgrade the exhaust and plenum. The turbo is enough car for me also.
