    It's UGLY. Why did they bother with such a beautiful prototype/design concept to only turn around and release this crappalious nonesense?

    They create a prototype. People get all hot and bothered, and salivating.

    Then they release the production model and its watered down and a complete d*ck deflator.

    Why car companies do this, I'll never understand.

    Actually it looks like it came from the same designer as the Imprezza! It's nice in an unoffensive sort of way. Boring.

    Production costs/focus groups. Very unfortunate. Beautiful concept, horrible excecution.

    Looks to me like an 2 door golf. Actually, thats how I wish to have an Golf. For an Scirocco by far to conservative and not sporty enough.

    Totally agree - piece of crack compared with the prototype... its a pity!

    A very boring and anonymous looking three door hatch with none of the graceful lines of the original. It's funny how car companies seem to think they can call an upright 2 box hatch design a coupe these days What a wasted opportunity.

    I don't understand why production cars are not same as concepts ? Concept usualy looks great, but production car loose everything what was nice on concept...

    Similar was with Jaguar C-XF (XF's concept). Concept was awesome, one of the best lookin gcars I ever seen, 100% I would trade companys BMW 5 for that one. But when I saw production car, I couldn't believe what they done - production version looks like Hyudani or Kia.

    They have lost all of the excitement and aggression from the front of the car... Shame, liked the look of this.

    I had one of these, but the new one... is just a slighty smaller next Golf not a real Scirocco.... what a shame

    Original Scirocco was good but the Corrado was great

    Dash is pretty much the same as a GTi, only difference being the Eos air vents. Like the seats.

    Because concept cars' design themes wear out, they are much more fashionable and therefore will look outdated sooner as you'd like.

    Don't understand what's the problem reg. the Scirocco production version. In fact I like it and, for a Volkswagen, it has a surprisingly agile stance! Furthermore VWs have always appealed by their three-dimensional appearance, their graphical elements have always had well-proportioned but measured graphics.

    I like it.
    But rear seat though cool, are a pretty bad idea for visibility IMO.
    Hope they will be an option.

    Any word on the pricing cs. lets say a GTI?

    The only thing I like is the wheels


    It does look pretty similar to the concept. The front end seems to be the only thing thats totally different. But everything that made it agressive is gone. Maybe its just the bland white color?

    If I remember correctly, the new VAG leadership has decided to nix the "huge grille" look for VW so as to better differentiate Audi from VW.

    If you look at the production Scirocco, it's pretty obvious the front is a last minute redesign. We can still see the shape of the concept grille.

    Rumour I heard was the top model would be a 3.6L VR6 w/ 4-motion drivetrain

    Very good looking ..for a Vw , not a surprise do because they have taken on board last year the chefs from the centro stile Alfa and Lancia why they make them design Golfs insted of Lambos, is a mistery to me , and very revolting if i see the new lambo
