It will not be the fastest, or make the best numbers.
But hands down it is the sexiest! Sex on Wheels.
Is it worth the extra $50K over the DB9 ... debateable. But then again that price point increase, to the people who buy cars like this, for them it's like the difference between a "Tall" and a "Vente" at Starbucks to us.
The only thing I don't like is that they futzed with the interior. The DB9 interior was perfect ... it needed nothing else.

The DB9 and V8 vantage will likely recieve the DBS interior come MY09
I agree the original bamboo debut of the DB9 was glorious, Sarah Maynard's (interior designer) work is good.
It would be nice if they offered the DBS's drivetrain/suspension/engine upgrades on the DB9 minus the exterior.
It is important to reiterate that Aston insists this is not the Vanquish replacement but a stopgap between the DB9 and the DB9 racing car.
Can't wait until the release the true Vanquish successor.

All the current AM models are great looking. Wish I could afford one, as I'd have one on order.
Maybe I'll get to see one later this week as I have to take my 911S in to the dealer (the Mercedes end of the operation) for the annual Virginia State Safety Inspection. Last year I saw an AM Vanquish in the service entrance. What a fantastic looking car - I almost started drooling on the spot!

A woman designed the interior. No wonder it's so nice to sit in. It's a very much a masculine cockpit but with enough soft lines and good material choices to make it feel very inviting.

Haven't seen a DBS yet, but got a pretty close look at an AM Vanquish today at the dealer (they sell AM, Maybach, Mercedes, Porsche, and Audi). It had the paddle shifter. The owner didn't seem to be in a talkative mood so I didn't ask him about that option.
It's a really big car, sort of dwarfs my Carrera S. Don't know how much hp the newer one's have (this one had the red brake calipers along with the traditional grey color), but I suspect I could outrun it on any road coarse other than one with a long LeMans style straight (the Mulsanne straight). Even then, given the weight of the car, it is approximately 900 lbs. heavier than my 911S (the AM Vanquish weighs in at about 4,000 lbs.), I think I would still have a good chance of beating it in a race. Don't know the weight of the DBS, but I guess it's a bit smaller.
