There is a lot of chatter on CLS forums of duals with GT3s. It is often claimed the the GT3 is faster on the straights but slower than the CSL in the corners (after it has the brakes upgraded).
But it would seem that it is a drivers race as both cars are quite close with no real killer in sight.

I agree. Having said this, the Nordschleife is not a brake heavy track as I understand it, so that AP brake conversion that's pending Ady isn't going to help you
Mind you it is a phenomenal conversion, it's amazing the difference it makes.
Just ask him what his next car is if all goes well with the new venture?

The Nordschleife is less demanding on brakes than most tracks but after three fast laps the standard M3/CSl brakes will overheat and turn to mush.
The APs (or at least pagid yellows and hi-temp brake fluid) are required to make the CSL stop properly. The GT3 brakes work out of the box and just need fluid upgrade.

Not really, The CSL has around 260bhp/ton and the GT3 around 295bhp/ton so really that should buy you more than three seconds a lap would you not agree.
I can only assume that the problem is with the 30 year old chassis design or the engine being in the wrong place.

Standard brake fluid has too low of a boiling point for serious track use.

Or it could be that the CSL is an unusually well balanced car that can carry more speed through corners.

Standard brake fluid has too low of a boiling point for serious track use.
And racing brake fluid has too short a "life" between changes to allow it to be used as original equipment in a road car. It is prone to absorbing humidity from the air, resulting in vapor bubbles in the brake lines when hot, so needs to be changed at shorter intervals than the regular service intervals of modern cars.

well that may be true but at the end the GT3 still is faster than the CSL on the track..I thought that was the sole reason for one car to "kill" the other. Also, it has to be taken into consideration that sometimes small advantages of a car can not be put into a better lap time on NS. --> see GT3 vs. GT3 RS
by the way, I know how good the CSL is, my everyday is a E46 M3 with SMG which has been around the ring countless times...

You and GT3 Killer clearly need to meet at the Ring for a race during the Rennteam get-together.
