There is a YouTuber who switched his R8 V10 Plus for a Huracan. You should see how people are making fun of him in the comments. One of his buddies has a Huracan, so I guess he felt inadequate. 😂😉

😂 Leather gloves because of that stupid suede steering wheel. It is super sensitive to sweat (and hand creme 😉), so I wear these "minimal" driving gloves. Dealer had a car equipped with this steering wheel and they had to exchange it after only a couple of thousands of kilometers because the leather looked "done". With the gloves not even a hint of wear, pretty awesome.

Oh...forgot...AP ROO Bucherer edition. Was able to get it relativly "cheap", seller asked 32k, got it for 26k. New.
So far my favorite AP but not everyone's taste (selling dealer had it over a year in stock).
Sorry, don't have it on me right now, so here is a pic from the internet.

180k...I think. I didn't really pay attention to their negotiations, I was too occupied with my watch.

180k for a steel watch?
RC, be careful with all these watches that you think might hold their value. When comes time to get rid of them, if ever, trading in might be OK but it will require to add money, but selling them will be another story. The whole industry and buyers have a huge incentive of talking these prices up, and people don’t need to sell very often, but when they do it is never as pretty as you think.
Personally I would never buy something unless it is 100% exactly what I want and never above MSRP. I also buy things to wear and not to stash away somewhere, which is for example why I probably will never buy the $180k RM I like because it looks sporty so I would want to wear it during the day and not worry about abusing it, but I would hate to think how much it would cost to fix a small abuses on it. So in the end it makes no sense. The Rolex and Panera and sporty AP on the other end can get abused and look better doing so and are cheap to polish.

I am probably too suspicious but I highly doubt as well that all these watches will hold high value or any value above original selling price.
from what I understood, few brands only will maintain a decent value and especially what qualifies as a certain level of complication. perpetual calendar looks one of them but again, everywhere I go and visit shops...I easily find them. world timer, minute repeater (that is crazy by the way) and chrono melted with other complication.
anyway, just my point of view. I would buy something that I like in the metal that I like without thinking about the resale. too many parameters. but 180k above...good luck for resale, it is probably written McLaren edition at the back.

Some watches you have to pay MSRP but the dealer might throw you a free item or a good discount on something else. Sorry for you Noone1 but many of us ARE paying MSRP or you are not getting the watch because they WILL sell it within days to someone else...
Apr 3, 2018 10:26:13 PM
Its simple supply and demand, where is the problem? if supply is lower than demand, either you pay MSRP or someone else will buy it instead, in fact some are even over MSRP second hand, like the Rolex SS Daytona due to the long waiting lists because for some reason Rolex seems to keep production far bellow demand, and its been that way for ages with that model don't know why, never understood that, its not a "special" watch. I've been offered more than what I paid for mine new (not that I care), which strikes me as silly since its used and its just a watch but

SciFrog:Where do you see a problem? Noone1 says "I don't think any new watch even sells at MSRP to begin with. I've never heard of anyone paying sticker for a new, modern watch.", that doesn't seem right at all...
Yes, I agree with you... sorry, didnt use quotes but it was directed at noone1, I was asking him why he doesnt think supp!y vs demand applies to watches for some reason like any other product. Like you said, some watches you will have to pay MSRP if you want them otherwise someone else will buy it instead because it has a waiting list. Nothing wrong with that.
Paying over MSRP, that I find a bit silly myself, but I can respect someone else doing it, that is up to each to decide... If you want it bad enough I guess....just that there is no watch in the world I would care about that much personally, they are just watches.
