The front fender peaks is disappearing more and more with each generations.

The 992 almost looks like there is no more front fenders. It's too bad, that raised front fenders is one of the iconic 911 trademark.

Agreed, it looks like a 992 Turbo mule. Also noticed the front spoiler is wrong style for GT3, front wheels lugs are wrong for GT3, etc.

Wait until you see the 992 GT3 Cup racer... that will have a few design clues! Smiley

The 992 mule also looked like a 991.2 4s right?

Front rimm is a new design right?

    Clip_.jpg

This is 992 Turbo mule. Yes, new rims. 20" fronts and 21" rears. Tires will be wider then on current 991.2 Turbo. Rumor is 315/30-21 rear summer tires. BTW, interesting brakes as well PSCB...

PSCB? As in Porsche Silicon Carbide Brakes?

Is that something else than PCCB? As far as I understood, that stands for Carbon Ceramic, but I thought that was Silicon Carbide, right?

    Porsche Surface Coated Brake...

The tungsten carbide layer applied to the steel discs increases braking performance and resistance to wear while reducing the amount of brake dust at the same time, meaning less dirt on the rims.

Some sort of improvement vs. the standard brake but PCCB still remains the top dog. Smiley

The old 20hp bump was barely adequate in the 996 days when power went from 300 hp to 320 hp.  But going from 450 hp to 470 hp is a much smaller percentage increase...

    And what's the 493 bhp (500hp) figure for in the 911?? With a 3.0 H6

Or the 385 bhp (390hp) for the Cayman ? Hope not GT4

Re: 992 (Next 911 generation 2018/2019) Thread Closed

Not a fan of the new front, it is too squared out for my taste. As someone said it looses the roundness that has always accompanied the 911 being a descendant of the VW bug after all. I know that was a long time ago but i think this new Tonka style will make the car more anonymous. It will look very clean but more anonymous.

The Boxster and Panamera are already aligned designwise and now the 911 has to follow. I understand where they are going but I am not sure it’s the right way. Front side vents will look almost like the Tiguans R line..🤭

Maybe because I'm fresh off being tailgated by a jacked up pickup and couldn't see anything other than a giant Ford logo in my rear view, but the third brake light needs to move to the top of the window like a Tesla S, Bentley Continental or Audi A7.  The car's existing brake lights are getting dangerously out of the field of vision of SUV drivers paying little attention to begin with.

I'll refrain from making any comments on the rest of the interior and exterior design other than saying I'm not at all close to rushing out to get my name on my dealer's list...

BTW, this is standard 992 Turbo. Power will be around 580ps or current 991.2 Turbo S level. Little bit lighter overall.

PSCB standard, PCCB option. 20" fronts, 21" rears standard. New engine, new PDK. Next generation of RWS. Rumor is much faster on the Ring then current 991.2 Turbo S.

So do I with the same exception. It looks smaller somehow (which is a good thing).

Car is actually little bit bigger overall. Exhaust will look totally different.

Needed for various reasons (mostly regulations and comfort). Weight loss on paper also not really great...

Car should drive great though, from what I heard.
