Make sure you have deep pockets, my cayenne hybrid only 6 years old and 93000 miles and hybrid battery is knackered and they want over 7000 GBP to fix it. Seriously sub standard battery on them and really dangerous when it goes as all my electrics and engine cut out and seriously put me at risk. Would be petrified to drive kids about in it when this is the result #porche #porschecustomercare no help at all even though dealership has admitted this is more than poor
You uses rechargeable batteries right? Like those AA or AAA ones. Or camera specific ones.
When is that last time one of those last 6 years?
The 4 AA rechargeables I used for my XBOX controller lasted perhaps 2 years before I replace them.
It's just another down side to current not good enough EV tech. The battery is the weak link. That also includes hybrids.

Really can’t compare your recharging toy batteries to an EV using high tech to maintain the cells.

High tech can only make a battery stretch it's life for so long.
Face it, rechargeable batteries was, is, will always be a consumable item in a car.
All rechargeables can only go through so many charge and discharge cycles, managing how much a battery is drained and charged up can prop;onng the life but doesn't make it last forever. Basically chemistry at work.

We need completely new battery tech (charging in a few seconds, even larger capacity batteries and storing 100x more energy capacity and not losing it over time), something revolutionary.
It will be available at some point in the future, it is just a matter of (development) time.
This new battery tech could be the new gold rush, just imagine the applications.
