I thought that 991.2 GT3 production ends this summer and no GT3 (only GT3 RS) after the summer vacation?!

RC I think its normal the GT3 and RS have the same motor!! its confirm like my dealer said production of the new RS and GT3 end of the year...After introduction of the 992 and hybrid era...

well, from where to start...
first error is the 1000 units for GT2RS, that numbers was the first estimation, it is now higher.
second, GT3 will not cross summer as the homologation stops on 31st of august.
third, the shutdown is not in august...it is in end of july.
this table looks like it is coming from pure speculation.

Of course it does...I don't think that someone claimed something else?!
Nobody said 1000 GT2 RS only...there is no limitation. Production only limited by capacity (and maybe upcoming emissions laws).
Someone just claimed that the GT3 will continue production after the factory summer vacation, so maybe...I don't know.

My dealer said today : ( he have some good information when the 991R arrived...and all is true)
60 cars for France. ( 80 - 90 GT2 RS )
The magnesium wheels are sold like an equipment ( I'm going with weissach pack ) and the wheels ( if I want ) are sold later.

US manufacturers pay higher price for steel and aluminum, so car prices goes up.
Imports pays more tariff, so they cost more.
End results basically means the US will be getting closer to world wide car pricing.
But with higher prices, that will weed out quite a bit 'speculators', 'pretenders'. So it could be a easier for people to buy 'limited' GT models.

Nick, for the tariff to hurt, it has to be around 25%. Then add the US taxes and other charges, over half of the cost will be in taxes. Porsche isn’t going to gamble on giving allocations to U as dealers when they know China, UK, Russia and other European counties are begging for more allocations. As you pointed out, Porsche’s profit margin is significantly higher when selling to these countries. This could seriously reduce allocations to the US.

My dealer believes Porsche made a real f*ck-up with this and that the car will be sold next year too.
My dealer is also saying car will be built in 2019. He also went on to say that 992 is delayed so maybe that fuels the 2019 build plan for RS also ?

Steel tarif will cost an average of $47 per car produced in the USA apparently... Tarrifs might not be the best way to go but fact is chinese steel dumping needs to be controlled and is hurting US sovereignty. The USA is a huge net importer of goods. In a trade war, everyone looses but large exporters will loose more.

Trump has said if the E.U. retaliates, he would impose a tariff on imported European cars.That tariff would be based on the price of the car such as 25%. The E.U. announced today they will retaliate.

This would greatly help Tesla confort its dominance in the luxury segment and reduce carbon emissions. Win-win?
Eu retaliation plan is political and targets Trump core electorate. Trump steel decision is based on widely worldwide accepted unfair steel dumping practices. Trump should have used quotas and not tariffs but his general mindset is in the right ballpark, unlike EU. It will be very interesting to see what the WTO has to say about this fiasco in the making.
