Josef:What are the dimensions of this car? Similar to the CLS?
I kind of like it, especially the front.
Yes, I think the AMG GT 4-door Coupe is actually a glorified CLS but maybe I'm wrong.
I absolutely hate the rear (reminds me of the Audi A7) but I think this is a matter of taste since the A7 found lots of buyers.

Looks absolutely horrid IMO. CLS is a much prettier design, this one makes the same design mistake as the first gen Panamera.

noone1:Guess they wanted something as ugly as the A7 and Panamera in their lineup.
Yeah, I don't get or feel this car...
Called my Mercedes sales guy today to tell him what AMG told me about the particulate filter for the E63 S AMG and before I even started to tell him, first thing he said: "Sorry but we cannot cancel or change your E63 order anymore because the car is already planned for production". He seriously thought I called him because I saw the AMG GT 4-door Coupe in the media and wanted to change my order. Apparently he already has interested customers, so I guess people have different tastes.

Gnil:I real life that car looks much better then on the photos .
I never liked the CLS or the Audi A7 and even the Panamera wasn't my thing (loved driving the Turbo S though...), so I guess even in real life, I won't like it. A bit too much for me. Also the CLS has a bad reputation here, often driven by more or less shady people here.

I love this car. Looks im my opinion much better than the competitors. So far this is my no. 1, very close up with the new A7. The least one I would rate the Panamera. Tastes are different.
I also think that the new CLS is herewith done. Who would buy a CLS (which looks like an A-Class) if this is available? Also the E63 will loose a lot of potential clients towards this car. But again - the E-Class is a full size car, while this Coupe's probably lack on trunk space

Yes, the trunk space would be a serious issue for me (remember? I went to my dealer with my wife and two large luggage pieces to see if they fit into the car...also had two pairs of skis with us ).
I know that you like the A7 but I'm really not a fan. Surprisingly, I like the Panamera how it looks now (I think Porsche put a lot of work in improving the design and get rid of that hump) but Audi A7 or the CLS/AMG GT 63S? Sorry but like you said, tastes are different (thank god, otherwise the world would be pretty boring).
The only things from the new AMG GT 63S I would like to see in my E63 would be the retractable rear wing (would be nicer than that stupid spoiler lip I never liked...on any car), the new steering wheel with that sport mode turn wheel (or button?) and the Panamericana grille (which should be available on the facelift of the E63 and at least on my upcoming C63 S AMG Cab). Oh...also of course the power...639 hp...with particulate filter.

I doubt there is much difference in performance between the E63s and the GT63s. At least not in that kind that you can feel it.
Regarding the Panamericana grille. As they use it now in every single model it kind of lost its coolness. Also, if the facelift has it, it will not fit on the current model. Panamericana grill means also the angry face - wider on the lower part of the grille. You are will look great without it!!!
Lars997:I doubt there is much difference in performance between the E63s and the GT63s. At least not in that kind that you can feel it.
The GT63S is 15 kph faster...(top speed). I assume however that the rear wing will increase downforce, thus making it slower in the upper speed range. So I guess you are right not much difference between both, despite the power increase.

I didn't plan to retrofit it, this stuff (even if compatible) is expensive.

I agree with you on the A7, both the new car and its predecessor have a rather polarising design. The Panamera in that second generation looks great, I agree as well. The GT4 door does look much better than the CLS though, I especially prefer the head- and taillights over the drooping versions on the CLS.
The car does look very good in reality, I don’t know why you guys think it looks odd.

I didn't say it looks odd, I'm just not a fan of this design. I also hate "Coupe" versions of SUVs, so maybe I just have a different taste.

That specific expression was used by someone else but the general consensus here seemed to be that the car does not look good. Maybe I have a different taste but I do like it.
I do see a lot of posh/bling character in it so I wouldn’t be surprised if a certain customer group that puts a lot of emphasis on that will feel attracted.
Ferdie:The two lower buttons on the steering wheel actually feature TFT displays. First time I have seen that on a serial production car:
Interesting, indeed. I haven't noticed.
Not a fan of that silver...some carbon in-between there would look better.

absent:I really like it, rear looks good too, the only dislike is the Tft screen, too big, prefer analog instruments vs fake TV display.
Those displays are one reason I switched from the initial GLC63 S order to the E63 S AMG. I just love these displays, they are high res, look amazing and the GUI is lightning fast.

To each their own.
they are very efficient and more useful, I'm sure, I just prefer the classic look of the tach and speedometer.
I would not consider the new S8 because of everything with touch screen, like in Panamera and I hated it in my rental Panamera Turbo.

I've always been a gadget freak, nerd, geek, whatever. Always loved technology, the newer the better and those new digital displays are a godsent gift to me. Only reason I would actually get a Tesla is the gadgetry.

Just talked to a guy who is interested in the GT4 63S and according to the technical data he received from his AMG contact, the GT4 63 S AMG is...hold your breath... 90 kg heavier than the E63 S AMG. Does someone know if this is true? This would be quite a lot.
