Gauss:Lol. I guess it is then.
You were correct though, bud. He's explanation is below .
"""It was a donor roof during build because for some reason mine wasn't available. It's just an independent panel that lifts out so makes sense, although I don't know why that was the case."""

DaveGordon:Indeed, nice plate. A Zürich plate similar (ZH911000) went for 20K CHF recently
Since LU911001 is my plate, I will certainly claim the proceeds if ever an auction system for the benefit of the owner is installed in Canton Luzern

So the "secret" new spec he mentioned, is not a carbon- or magnesium-roof...
Blueflame
there is no carbon roof option to be specced on a ''regular'' GT3, let alone exposed carbon
At best, you can go with deviated color if they approve and it is not something either easy or cheap

Still haven't come around to drive it properly, but it's looking great standing still.

Made it through the test of self-restraint that is the running in procedure. The rush to 9k was finally there for the taking. It was the first time I actually ventured past 7.5K rpm, and that's where the fun really starts. The induction voice sings from 7k rpm onwards, and it's surprisingly loud in the cabin the first time you experience it, much louder than Mezger GT3's. The exhaust is completely drowned out by the engine's induction and metallic "zing" from 7.5K onwards. Amazing sound... The rush in acceleration from 7k to 8.5k rpm hardens noticeably making chasing the redline all the more addictive and rewarding. That said 8.5k to 9k rpm doesn't seem to bring much to the party, unless maybe the engine needs to open up a little bit still, I feel the engine gives its best up to 8.5k rpm. The manual gearbox is a real delight when you start pushing the engine, it shifts mechanically and precisely, but I do understand why people would opt for PDK with an engine of such intensity. To keep it on the boil constantly, nothing would beat a PDK, yet I remain convinced that for my mixed use the manual is the more engaging option.
Chassis-wise I haven't really explored much, it oversteers nicely and controllably as you'd expect, it also communicates extremely well, 'seat of the pants' as well as steering feel. My expectations were high but it exceeded it on every level. Now to schedule the oil-change post break-in, alignment and fitment of the uncorked exhaust.

T-minus 17 years and he can drive it.

My insurance says no one under 30 yrs old can drive my car.
My 14 yr old will be waiting as long as your 1 year old to get behind the wheel!
Cute photo. Agree re rotation. Was going to post some last week of the Mt Panorama visit. Most were upside down and I gave up.

My girls were bad ass go kart racers by 10 and driving my 996 and 997s by age 12 in parking lots (not on the street until they got their permit at 14). Insurance on my Turbo is $650 per year. ( they are now 23 and 27)Kansas is not so bad.
I am so pleased to hear that you enjoy the manual sooo much. It would be my choice if I could choose.

To avoid rotated pictures, you need to save the pics on your desktop first then you can upload them to RT and they appear corectly.
Great kid Frank ! My middle son drove my RS on track last September at age 13. Managed to hit 200 km/h on the straight. We had such a good time.
