Regarding UK allocations, there shouldn't be anything stopping you buying from any mainland EU country - you should be able to simply order a UK country-code RHD car (e.g. the reverse of what I did buying a German-spec LHD Boxster in the UK).  I'm sure some here could help with leads in e.g. Germany.  They will work out more expensive than UK prices, but if you really want one...

But Canada is sort of fun recreationally, starting July 1st, if our spineless Prime Minister didn't back down from those pesky people form Quebec, weed will be legal across the whole country. But you still wouldn't be able to get a GT car from Porsche though Smiley

It seems that the 991.2 GT3 RS gets a particulate filter, probably why they increased capacity but barely increased power. Very strong rumor that production (in high numbers) will continue past September 2018.

    Good news...I guess...if true.

Still the same capacity , 4 l.  Unless everything we read today was wrong.

Delivering the RS with a particule filter makes sense business wise . But personally I am not happy for the moment.

Always the same rumors , always the same delivery. We should know better

torque unchanged so no increase in capacity i think.

I think that there will be NO particulate filter in the RS. First they will supply the EU market, after that ROW.
A particulate filter will come with the next generation (GT4, ...).

It would be "stupid" from Porsche to deliver the GT3 without an the RS with the filter.
There is no way that the filter doesn't "influence" in a negative manner (Sound, performance, ....).

But it would be as dumb to not fit a particle filter and so to limit production to a few month when they could of made many more over a 12 month period ....

Maybe that' s what they are debating now ? At the same time it is hard to believe nothing as important  is already set now, so close to launch time .

Two different German  dealers told customers that there will be cars available without particulate filter before the summer factory vacation and cars with particulate filter after the summer factory vacation. So there is definitely something going on in that direction but I haven't received any (semi)official confirmation yet, sorry. Smiley

Yes, dealers often read car forums but they are often better informed than they admit to be, especially the general manager of a dealership. Smiley Smiley Sales persons may not have the latest information though, true.

Smiley,, absolutely.. From a pure sales point of view, Porsche has to surely give the dealership boss some strategy to work with. Specially with the halo models. Makes sense..

Is that really the net?  Including steep tax on new one?  I would think you could spec a nice RS with almost no options.  Will your dealer give you market value for trade or MSRP or what?

I would think the sticker on your GT3 would just about pay for an RS with a simpler spec (including free LWB's and cool Lizard Green color).  I guess you have no tax credit in CA which is ~$18k or so?

For me, the current market value on my GT3 would just about pay for an RS including the tax (tax offset in CO), if I had an allocation and if I wanted an automatic...

I'd be looking at something around $20k all in, I think

Grant, my car with taxes was $181,400. If I spec the RS similar to my car it will be around $220,000. Taxes will be close to $20,000. I could lease it and avoid the big tax hit.

My dealer will certainly give me the MSRP of $167,000 for my car and probably more. But I doubt he would give me $181,000 but who knows?

A simple spec suits the RS better - I think you can get a very nice spec for well under $200k

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Grant, the base price will be $200,000. Add the LWB and a few other items and you're over $210,000 for a stripped down car. If I got the lizard green not sure if there an up charge. Rather than get the PCCB's I would paint the calipers yellow. I would want the dash clock though I would forego the leather dash. I think the green inserts look good and certain they are an additional charge. I just don't see how I can get away bringing the car under $215,000. Add the guzzler tax, registration and so on you'll be close to $220,000. The lease payment would be easily over $3000 assuming minimum down payment.
