    Oh man  kiss

Interior shots of VB do seem to saturate a lot - which I like. From what I can work out, it’s not like this in daylight though - coming out like a slightly darker mexico.

Correct. VB is one color that looks better in photographs than in the flesh.

sure Negaro with those sexy wheels

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3 (2017)

I think Nogaro is closer to what I’d hoped VB would be, but then I saw a beaten up boy racer Audi in it and it kind of killed it for me.

does Club Blau show dirt quite a bit?  I'm thinking it may even though it's light than my midnight blue met.  Nice colorkiss

dirt is not a major problem, but since it is a non metallic color, the fine lines are bad under certain lightings.

Azurro California blue on the old club coupe is much easier to live with.

GT3RS: Some say press embargo will be lifted and the configurator available in the middle of February.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3 (2017)

Porsche usually keeps the world premier for press day and that's what should happen with the GT3 RS.

Or could happen another new model presentation...

Sadly, the 992 GT3 is expected to lose its intoxicating naturally aspirated 4.0-liter engine in favor of a twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat six. The good news? It will reportedly be rated at 550 hp.

This is not 100% yet...not even 80%... Smiley Yes, the 911 gets a mild hybridization, the 911 Turbo/S probably even something more substantial but the GT models could still be n/a, at least one or two models (maybe special ed. models?).

992 Turbo S will get over 600 hp, this is for sure. 610-620 hp are in the books right now but it could become more if the 960 isn't going to happen (soon).

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3 (2017)

918 weights like a couple tons but it is faster than just about anything else......................

The Panamera Turbo S Hybrid also weights like 3 tons but it is also faster than anything in it's segment, and faster than a lot of sports car too.....................

Porsche seems to be the only manufacturer that make extra weight disappeared.

Hell they have been defying physics for the last what 70 years?

Not defied, just partially hidden.  The weight is obvious under braking and cornering, fast isn't everything.

And Macan and Cayenne are partially .....  heavy boulevard cruisers.angry

The new E63 S station wagon recently did 7:45 min. on the Nordschleife, on street tires (Michelin PS4S). No factory test car or factory driver, it was a test done by Sport Auto.

Technology has come very far nowadays...

In a couple of years, we are going to have 2 t SUVs doing the Nordschleife in the same time.

When talking about the 918, one simply cannot do it by reading the spec sheet, one actually have to be inside the car in order to have a proper judgement. Every. Single. Journalist. Made that mistake 4 years ago. And every one of them had to embarrassingly eat their own words in public.

The 918 will out brake just about anything and can do it time after time without fading because of the hybrid regen braking, the physical brakes are only doing ~60% of the work as compared to a normal car. Peak braking g in a 918 is 1.3g, the regen braking take cares of 0.5g of that every time.

For ornering, it could do better than ~1.2g on tracks if it gets better tires. Even at 1.2g it is right up there for cars with street tires. It's also a strange feeling as one would expect body roll in turns because of the weight, but there isn't any, cause of the Cg of the car is below the wheels' centreline thanks to the heavy hybrid system. The engineering and packaging on the 918 is still second to none.

The extra weight do shows up in acceleration after 265km/hr, when the front motor disconnect and the car has to make do with only ~730HP.

As for other cars, look no further than the 911, somehow some where, Porsche tamed the rear engine layout and made a great handling car out of it.

But I agreed, Macan and Cayenne are heavy boulevard cruisers. As least the Cayenne is still an above average off roader.

Has the leaking become worse or still ok to drive?

Several weeks to receive new tank or several weeks in the shop (hopefully former)?

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3 (2017)

    Nick,

Why can't the factory air freight in your new tank?

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3 (2017)

Good questions. I can still drive the car but the leak is becoming worse. Fortunately, the oil gauge has not reflected the loss of oil just yet. Watt, they have the part but they claim it a huge job to drop the engine and access the oil tank. I am suppose to hear from my dealer's customer service about what their plan of action.

MY .1 GT3 was delayed for several months because of the recall. I have only 750 miles on this car and letting it sit for several weeks is unacceptable. At a minimum they should make my car payment while I am unable to use it.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3 (2017)

Nick you should go for the GT3RS.2 instead and you might have a change in fortunes. It must suck big time to have issues with a new car. The fender vents on the RS are worth the additional $20k.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 991.2 GT3 (2017)

The RS attracts me for some of the features you and Kreso point out. But the base price of the .2 GT3 was $143,000. My guess the RS will start at over 200,000 before considering the minimum of options. Essential I would be paying well over $60,000 to move up to an RS. It’s something to think about.Smiley
