    8:05 equiped with that new developed semi-slick and without the limiter it is not a great time.

    Just for your info new C63 AMG also with 280km/h and 030Package and Corsa tires is slower on the Ring.

    But the C63 is a 4dr saloon with automatic transmission and it's a Merc.

    Funny - exactly the same laptimes as the 997S (-20mm/LSD) on normal tires..

    I beg to differ. The old M3 did it in 8:22.

    Yes, tires make a difference, but 8:05 puts it with the R8/C2S etc. Very good for a 4 seater.

    I do question their tire selection - as I did for their 997tt test. What tires were used for SA's RS4 test (8:09)?

    RS4 achived 8.09min with Pirelli Corsas and Sport Suspension +(option in Europe).

    Oh, Doettinger Hoehe top speed for new M3 is very impressive indeed-266km/h...

    As a point of reference 997CS(-20mm/LSD, PCCBs) top speed on the same spot is 259km/h and that means...

    Your bet is the right one!

    There is another interesting thing-R8 is the second car that is faster on the Ring(997 Turbo MY08 is the first one) after some small setup(suspension) changes... Development little bit too fast in both cases?

    248km/h if a remember correctly. e46 M3 CSL did 255km/h at that same spot...

    if C63 already been tested it cant be much slower. give or take 1-2 seconds. I assume it was tested with R-tires.
