Re: zzboba's new commuter
zzboba, will be curious re: your impressions re: CL550 tq on urban AB...and exurban AB....
Had a CL550 at launch last yr (and have had CL600 and CL63 since; passed on getting CL65...rather weak steering/chassis balance/traction vs CL63 IMO)....and first impression was that 550's a bit underpowered (esp tq) vs SF Peninsula's 280 fwy.....which I would argue is world's fastest urban fwy....w/hills/bends/often heavy cross winds/dense traffic/inept US drivers/stretches of suboptimal pavement and some rather smooth stretches/4-5 lanes for many passing opportunities btwn clumps of traffic....an intense test of any car's tq curve....(and often among other guys in CL63/599, etc also doing the 40+mi SF-SiliconValley blitz to get to a mtg on time)...
280 is a great proving ground which has quickly revealed 997TT's rather laughable turbo lag issues....adequacy of CL63 tq (and excellent traction)....CL600 has more impressive tq than 63, but weaker brakes/susp/steering...and CL65 has legendary tq on dry, smooth stretches of pavement, but struggles on even dry, uneven pavement.....
In any case, look fwd to your impressions of CL550 tq on AB....
