    From April 2008

    997 345hp
    997S 380hp

    Paris 2008

    997 Turbo 505hp pdk & 997 GT3 435hp psm+pdk

    also available 20" wheels

Re: *****997 Facelift info & specs******

Any words on whether the FL Targa will come at the same time or later?

Re: *****997 Facelift info & specs******

Cool, I better get another job then if I want that elusive GT3 I'm after. Not sure I'll got PDK though.

Re: *****997 Facelift info & specs******

Not to doubt Andrea but what's your source?

Re: *****997 Facelift info & specs******

pdk only for turbo and gt3 first?

Re: *****997 Facelift info & specs******

    Sorry, what's "PDK"?

Short for "Porsche Doppel Kupplungen" or "Porsche Double Clutch"...

    that's just insane!!!

Re: *****997 Facelift info & specs******

Holy cow that crazy!!! I guess the power increase is done by implementing FSI like VW and Audi.

Re: *****997 Facelift info & specs******

Thanks andrea, any news on the 987S? A 345hp 997 should allow enough room for the 987S to increase to at least 310hp, maybe 315hp.

Re: *****997 Facelift info & specs******

Those are the old x51 kit hp numbers: x51 on 3.6L =345 hp and on 3.8L=381 hp! DFI wasn't required to get those increases before. What a rip!

While that may be true, there should be more torque available throughout the rev range in the newer engines.

Re: *****997 Facelift info & specs******

    No PDK for Carrera/Carrera S?
    Any info about Cayman/Boxster?
    Thanks!

Re: *****997 Facelift info & specs******

    I believe it all, except the 20" wheels . . .

And you can be sure that the price will increase in the amount of the X51 package

No way. I'll wager against that! Do you really think that Porsche will increase the 911S by $17,000 in the states?

It's not all about power. I think one of the main advantages of the DFI is reduced fuel consumption.

Anybody can answer that question? Will we see PDK only in the turbo/GT3 in autumn or will Porsche start with the regular 997 from April onwards?

    Is that true?

I am waiting for the PDK RS for long time, I want both now!

DFI and PDK for RS are awesome! Now that's closer to a racing car.

I wish the RS will release within 1 year.

I will take the manual turbo and PDK RS.

Re: *****997 Facelift info & specs******

    997 GT3 + PSM + PDK, now that's my dream car.

Re: *****997 Facelift info & specs******

so are we saying a MKII GT3 will be released in April 08 with PDK & 435bhp ?

If so thats great news as i have my name down for a MKII GT3 should Porsche make one

Nope - I think by mentioning "Paris 2008" Andrea wants to say that the car will be introduced to the public at the Paris Autosalon which will take place from 4-19 October 2008. Hence market launch should be in Spring 2009.

so that's mean at least wait 1 yr for the RS.

    come on Porsche, faster faster!!

do you know when is the RS release after the GT3?

I remember almost the same time isn't it?

Re: *****997 Facelift info & specs******

Pardon my ignorance. Will the 3.8 be the standard engine package?

Introduction seems to be in Paris 2008, but I guess you will get the car right away, earlier than spring 2009.

    +1 Hopefully before 09.

Can't wait for the PDK RS, I just found a new lover.

Re: *****997 Facelift info & specs******

If MKIIs are model year 2009, it makes sense that they are going to be available starting fall 2008.

Re: *****997 Facelift info & specs******

What does "from April 2008" mean? Does this mean production will start in April 2008? Or in showrooms in April (production starts in March)? So do I want a March or April build?

Re: *****997 Facelift info & specs******

I THINK THE NUMBER 1 REASON IN EUROPE FOR THE DFI IS LOWER CO2 AND LOWER FUELCONSUMPTION THIS IS A BIG ISSUE HERE IN EUROPE WITH A HEFTY FINE IF THE CO2 EMISSION IS ABOVE FIXED NORM IN HOLLAND THE FINE FOR A CAYENNE IS APPROX 14K EURO AND 8K EURO ON AVERAGE FOR THE 911 AND FOR A HUMMER 30000 EURO!!!
