Phoenix Connection?

Hi Rennteam,

In celebration of my girl’s 10th birthday I thought it appropriate to give her a minor upgrade...Eibach Pro kit, spacers and a TPC DSC. My only problem is I’m being quoted 10.5 hrs and $2K just to install the springs. I’ve read on many forums 4-6 hours labor is realistic so is the AWD more work or should I look elsewhere? Any recommendations? Thanks for any help.

I know how this sounds but why don't you keep your car original? A Targa isn't exactly a track toy and the Targa roof/mechanism doesn't take suspension/chassis changes lightly, so be careful.

Most Porsche cars look (and drive) best if left in the original state but maybe this is just me... Smiley Smiley

Also, they keep their value much better in their original state, at least here in Germany (nobody wants to buy Porsche cars with aftermarket parts over here, their value tanks fast).

Putting stiffer suspension will induce more stress on the car structure.

With a roof top in glass where the torsion is max is not the clever upgrade to do...

as RC said for Germany with the same principle in France, any mod to a Porsche is not welcomed, let alone changing a targa to a track car smiley

Thanks much. Appreciate the feedback. While the springs are indeed stiffer, the predominance of info on DSC indicates it’ll be a smoother ride than PASM, which is mostly unusable right now in sport mode due to its rigidity and hop. I’m optimistic there’ll be less stress with the new controller and a much nicer ride even with the slightly firmer springs. The benefits of the lower ride height on the cars looks will be welcome as well. I may be naive but I didn’t see any of the changes as very aggressive and ones that can’t be completely returned to factory if I were ever to decide to sell; something I’m not forecasting. In any case I’ll throw a couple of pics up soon.

Changing springs on a 10 years old car for better then the original ones can only be a good thing .
