More new colors on the ground....

    Black/Carrera Red:

    Malachite Green Turbo:

    Macadamia Turbo:

Re: More new colors on the ground....

Strange, in the first picture that black 997 looks like it has Terracotta interior instead of Carrera Red but in the second one it's clearly the latter.

Re: More new colors on the ground....

Really hard to judge the Red from a photo, as different lighting, etc. alters color. I have owned a black with Red Interior car (1990 Corvette) and it was striking in person. Wish there was something (option) to replace that volcano grey on the bottom of all sport seats where the seat controls are.

Red interiors usually don't look good in pictures, like they do in person, not sure why. Have yet to get a good pic of the Red and Black Dual Leather interior in my F430. In person though it's so freakin sharp, people come up to me all the time at Rally's saying it's the nicest 430 interior they've ever seen.

Leather Seat Backs replaces the Grey w/ Alum.

Agreed, on RED in person is very sharp. Its one thing to oogle it on the showroom floor, and another to have the stones to order one. I have seen the F430 in your combo live and its truly first class. I note Option CVT (speakers, etc. in Leather) calls for Seat Memory trim driver side in Black Plastic. What's up with that? Man, every day another idea, another $$

Porsche got me hook, line & sinker.

Here's a pic, but doesn't show the red interior leather that's on the rear bench & red leather roof liner. The dual Red & Black Leather w/ Red Stitching and Carbon Fiber looks amazing in person.

Re: More new colors on the ground....

Just found this one showing the rear bench wall but again, the color just doesn't come out right at all in pics or more likey it's my photography.

    Wow, niiiiice.

I could definitely go with that look only because it's a Ferrari. I'd be very happy with it because it's a Ferrari.

It's not the same..., I dunno..., universe?..., as Porsche in my mind.

Re: More new colors on the ground....

It's a pity Porsche makes it hard to get a proper bicolor interior in the 997.

Natural grey + black carpets + Carrera Red seats = WANT

For additional color, add Carrera Red door center panel (25482) and lower dashboard (25981 - the PCM side panels remain dark grey), and maybe Carrera Red deviated stitching.
Unfortunately, there's nothing convincing for the rear side panels, so that combo would look best in a Boxster or Cayman.

Ferrari and Lambo have cutting edge designers; they look sharp no matter what they do. I'd go almost as far as to say F and L can make pink and purple car look good (almost!).

Porsche (the German car mfgrs in general?) still is kinda in the second tier as far as design (colors, materials, styling etc) is concerned.

I still love Porsche, but I won't try to do something fantastic or outrageous with their options offerings.

Kinda like Bulgarian Haute couture will never equal Parisian HC. (Not a put down to the Bulgarians because nobody equals the French HC)

Re: More new colors on the ground....

German design is more functional. If it's not functional, they don't think about why anyone would want it.

Porsche takes pride in the large palette of choices afforded by the Exclusive department. However, the door panels are not designed for something as simple - and sometimes as necessary - as deviating carpets.

In addition, they will blindly build a car as ordered, without warning the unsuspecting owner that the end result is going to look terrible.

    Exhibit A:

Re: More new colors on the ground....

    Other infamous examples:
    - the deviated stitching enigma (especially the shifter problem)
    - cars ordered with all Exclusive leather options, but without full leather. The customer probably thought it was covered by the EAA/EBA extended dashboard package option.

Yup! I factory ordered a 1989 930 Turbo Targa, Guards Red/Black. Optioned nicely north of 77K. This in days before option code guides & forums readily available to buyer. Dealer failed to inform me Full leather not std but was option. Waited 4 months to be greeted by Leatherette seats and such.
