I guess those odd colors are okay; they MUST look better in person.
I can't imagine _ordering_ them though; more like an "off-the-lot" decision IMO.
Because the car has almost a _mythical_ presence to it, it's like "traditional _Porsche_ colors" are burned into my brain as the only possibilities. You know..., AS, SY, GR, Blk, Grey, WT... .

It looks like I need to upgrade my "natural grey radar". I though the [beep]-proof test was to compare the plastic and leather areas.
It might be the lighting, but the leather areas appears to be noticeably brighter than the plastic (which remains black in natural grey interiors). Also, the carpets look noticeably brighter than the leather, whereas Porsche interiors are usually set up the other way round.
Do I really need to bring my "natural grey radar" to the dealership for the 30,000km service?
Anyway, I've like Macadamia best with Natural Brown so far.

Regarding grey interiors.
This is not the greatest comp (dammit: I can't find the better one); try to ignore the bicolor of the BMW.
It shows how busy the 997 interior is compared to BMW. Look at the door panels especially.
Everything is broken up and somewhat jumbled in 997. BMW is always coherent, unified and flowing.
My point; I have always ordered BMWs with grey interiors because they are soooooo nice looking; grey shows them off.

Natural Grey is like 90% black. It's close enough that Porsche did not bother to make dark grey plastics, they just carried over the parts from the black interior.
Porsche is trying to keep as many interior parts as possible common to the 911 and the Boxster. It lowers costs, but it does not necessarily flows well together. In fact I prefer the 987's interior to the 997's.
