I wouldn't read too much into the design details of a mule, especially since this seems to be an early engine test mule.

Same here, wiping the floor as we speak...looks like a beast on an extra dose of testosterone...I have got of those on pre-order in the system("registered reservation"), remains to be seen if it actually gets me one when crunch time arrives...

It will be easier than with the 911 R...I heard. 
The price tag still remains a mystery but I hope the rumors work like in the past...higher than in reality. 
The 911 R was supposed to be way over 200k, still wondering why they chose to offer it cheaper. Maybe they were afraid of their own success.

The mule looks a lot like my current GT3 RS, of course, but the rear with the diffuser and upward pointing exhausts looks mean ...I think I stand a very reasonable chance of getting one, the price will need to be seen in the context of how many they intend to build, limited or not, etc.

So far, it seems it will be available without any artificial restriction (limited edition) but this can change any time, so we need to wait until the car is actually here. If you are seriously interested in this car, I suggest you contact your dealer now and try to put yourself on some sort of list or whatever, so you don't have a bad surprise once the car shows up (not that you can't have a bad surprise anyway because the dealer screws you... 
).

Thanks - I have an agreement I'll get the second car allocated (if they even get two cars!) to my local dealer here in UK, so I'm hoping for non-limited run. I tried and failed on the 991 R, so fingers crossed on the GT2 RS.

My dealer expects 2-3 cars (like with previous GT2RS) but said that the owners of 918 will have the right of first refusal again.
He sold 3 of them, all expressed their wish to grab all and any allocations for limited or special edition Porsches.
As with GT3RS and incoming R, the new cars will be picked up, driven around the block and less then a mile later put on the showroom floor as "used cars" on consignement with dealer getting a 10% commission.
I am #1 on the list for GT2RS but not holding any hopes.......

If it's limited to 500 world wide like 997 GT2 RS, I have no chance of getting one, but I hope they make a few more available than the recent 911R, and in doing so create an opportunity for people to use them as intended and sing the praises of these new Turbo engines... I think a GT2 RS will be immense having sampled the power delivery from a 991.2 Turbo S recently on track.

apparently my downpayment for the ferrari 488 speciale (or GTO maybe?) will be transferred to the german dealership which covers austria until a new dealership is appointed in vienna. i was promised a place on the list which will guarantee me a car - should i still want it still after the presentation. my plan is to choose between the 488 speciale and the GT2RS (number 2 on my dealer's list)....but meanwhile i will enjoy myself a lot with the GT3RS:::)))

That's bad news.. "Limited Numbered cars" has historically resulted in just about 1 per dealer in the UK, so my chances are very slim.. in terms of numbers then, would it be in the region of 991 R or previous 997 GT2 RS?
