I do agree the Fabspeed tips look much better than original, but because it sticks out more then they should, it drive me carzy... I think if I have the time, I would look for someone t cut the muffler output pipe a bit shorter before putting on the tips back.
I think the PSE tip and its finish is much better... for example.

I have FS tips on my Cargraphic and they don't stick out at all, the stock tips did not stick out either on the CG, maybe the FS exhaust has slighly longer piping

Yeah, stock tips stick out further with the FS exhaust. About another inch, inch and a half.
That's good to know. I have not changed my exhaust yet but that will have an influence on which system I go with. Thanks for bringing this up.

They stick out slightly, nothing near 1 1/2 inch. Measuring from the bumper edge to the tip edge is approx 3/4", I don't know how it compares to stock but it must be pretty close. Hardly noticable IMO.
Overall the exhaust sound is good, but it is louder than stock. About twice as loud in all RPM ranges. No significant drone or annoying resonance at all. I have had droning exhausts before and this is nothing like that. A very livable exhaust on a DD, if any question get the quiet version. FWIW I have the Gen 3 moderate sound for a 6 speed car.

Ok, I went back to take another good look, it's about an inch or a little bit less than an inch, not the 1.5 I was posting earlier.
Looking from the side, peaking into the plastic cut out, one can see the inside ends of the stock tips, it's still inside the plastic cutout, nothing major but it's there if one decide to look.
A side benefit of the tips sticking out more is that I can clean and polish the WHOLE tip instead of just the ends

1000 miles on mine so far, I've had both the quiet and gen moderate system, I prefer the mod system. Sound is great, not too loud at all. No drone. My stock tips fit exactly like my stock ones, prolly need to adjust them if you are having issues. The quiet version has a fused exit tailpipe, possibly this is the issue. The gen 3 attaches right at the muffler with a L pipe, infinitely adjustable.
Fit and finish is perfect.
The downside are the v band clamps, they wear out and loosen with 1 or 2 uses, they are junk. If your car is getting louder, check your clamps at the cat, they are loose. I am replacing mine with some oem 996 clamps, should fix the issue 100%, 15$ each from the dealer. Your system should have no drone at all, if it does, switch the clamps.
Overall, all things considered, the best 997TT aftermarket system on the planet, of course my wife hates it, but that's another story.

Not necessarily. There are others that could think otherwise. Perhaps, "one of the best" would be a better description.
