    Ruby Red & Malachite Green

Ruby looks nice, less sure about Malachite than I was:

    Oh - and here's Macadamia...

Re: Ruby Red & Malachite Green

Ruby looks great, much like Orient Red of a few years back

Malachite is just about OK, but not for me, thanks

    Macademia is just vile IMO

Re: Ruby Red & Malachite Green

I like the red, not a huge fan of the green, but I think I'm one of the rare few that loves the macadamia!

    Malachite Green

Different. Ruby Red is as said above like Orient Red. I'm already considering Malachite Green and Natural Brown leather for my next car. I think the way Malachite changes color in different light is amazing.

Macademia in the flesh is a really cool color with a lot of metal flake in it which changes the color dramatically.

    Re: Malachite Green

Not really digging any of those. There's a guy in LA with a Olive Metallic Green with Nat Brown interior cab and it is one of the most stunning 997s that I have seen. The new green doesn't compare.

    Re: Malachite Green

I also prefer Olive Metallic Green over Malachite. On the other hand ruby would be a nice choice for the TT.

    Re: Malachite Green

I don't get it. There's no "reason" to get those colors as far as the car's aesthetics are concerned. You'd arbitrarily get a P-car in those colors because that would be your "favorite color" right? IMO, get the green or brown; at least they'd blend in and wouldn't look like an eyesore (i.e. distraction, "stuff," more toys, whatever) in front of your house like the red would.

I believe the 997 that ran with us is Macademia.

From my "road trip" to Las Vegas post:

    Re: Malachite Green

Well as far as aesthetics are concerned most people prefer the TT in dark colors (because of its design lines). On the opposite spectrum, I think white is one of the best colors for the TT. The ruby red reminds me of the 993TT's and they looked great in that color. I still have to see it in person, but can't imagine it would be as bad as you describe.

    Re: Malachite Green

It's all personal choice...me? I don't like any of these colours

Yes, "personal choice," good point. I'm not gonna fault anyone for getting an..., uh..., let's say "uncommon" Porsche color. It's just that I can't imagine myself ever ordering one. Maybe I could see myself buying one off the lot as a spur-of-the-moment impulse, or something like that.

    Re: Malachite Green

I would take any of these color above silver

    Agreed!

I like all those new colours, macademia is something very special, malachit reminds me of the historical shades of green of Porsche's 911 and ruby is just a colour which deserves the name. Can't really go wrong with ruby.

    Re: Malachite Green

Macadamia might work enhance a Boxster or a 997 Cab. I dont think it works on coupes.

Re: Ruby Red & Malachite Green

A carrera is always best in classic colors: red, white, black, and yellow...

Strongly disagree -- because design studios are concerned with aesthetics and when they create "final" clay models they "paint" them silver. It's the best way to see the beautiful sculptural features the car.

Maybe, but silver is just so boooooring.

I agree, P-cars suite my personal desire, in Black, Gray, White and Blue only

    Re: Malachite Green

I like the ruby red. Would consider it on my next porsche.

I had a university professor who forever impressed me by saying, "There's no such thing as boredom." I guess he meant there's "fatigue," or "disinterest," but the world is far too big and wide to ever be "boring." FWIW.

I like silver because changes in the ambient light does so much for changing look of the car.

One thing's for sure you are correct about silver in the middle of the day when the sun's out: silver looks washed out and tired (probably the _worst_ of all colors?).

Re: Ruby Red & Malachite Green

I think it all depends on the look you're going for.
These colors make the cars look more unique and elegant.
If you want a more "sporty" look, then I don't think these are the colors for you.
White, red and yellow are the sporty colors.
The Silvers/grays and blacks are sort of in between.

Re: Ruby Red & Malachite Green

Resale wise I believe the greens and browns take bigger hit in depreciation. Although I have to agree that Olive green is a stunning color. I haven't seen any of the new colors in person. One of the brown colors I would like to see in person would be the Morone metallic that porsche has in its exclusive brochure.
