    Re: 488 GTB/GTS

I have an option for a 812 superfast who would be delivered in 2 months..I own right now a 488 GTB one year old and 1,700 kms.

I have to give my 488 + 170,000 euros to get the 812.Do you think is it worth?

I am also afraid of the depreciation 812 could have in 2 years...(minimum 120,000 euro)

    What do you think guys?

Apples and oranges. Mid - engined V8 turbo  vs front engined naturally  V12. You should decide on the basis of the kind of car you enjoy rather than price point/ depreciation. having said that, remarkably the depreciation on front engine Ferrari V12s has been very low on F12s and the 812 market is tight so far.

they say ''when you ask''...different cars, different philosophy.yes

488 is about to tank because of the coming track oriented version, 812 is new...depreciation wise, 488 is on the downside.

It depends on how you drive your cars. If you prefer the more dynamic and precise driving experience I would keep the 488. If you primarily enjoy special engines the 812 is a great choice as well. Economically, keeping the 488 will be the far (!) better choice.

The 488 just doesn't do it for me . I thought the speciale would change this , but it doesn't . The car is actually boring . Kind of a bad face lift from the 458 , trying to put some angles to make it a bit different , but the result is that it makes the car look like it was designed in one day from a bunch of uninformed  students angry

those pics show a slightly modded 488 shell with slightly larger air ducts, the final car will look very different...

Sorry but design-wise, I would take the 488 over the 720 anytime. The 720 looks more exotic but this doesn't have to be necessarily a plus.

The above photos show the facelift, not the Speciale...I think.

There won't be a facelift of the 488, the next V8 will be a complete new design. So I'd say the pictures above are definitely the Speciale successor.

Are you sure? A 488 customer I know has been asked by his dealer if he is interested in the facelift (2018). Smiley

Hmm, nothing is sure I guess, now that the jumper has taken over... Smiley

But a facelift for the 488 would be way too early, maybe the dealer meant the hardcore version, when he talked about the facelift. So my bet is still on the Speciale successor.

Especially at the front there has always been a big improvement of the front of all special versions, just think of Challenge Stradale, Scuderia or Speciale. So I guess the 488VS will be no exception here. Smiley

    Re: 488 GTB/GTS

lots of carbon parts, also the rims. over 700hp, engine and car 10% lighter than GTB engine/car. 'track sound' they say....

    Re: 488 GTB/GTS

Embarrassing for Ferrari to have a highlight slide saying "Highest Utlisation of Carbon Fibre on a Range car" then show this as being a few body panels and interior trim when even their sister company Alfa Romeo have had a carbon tub in a mid engined car costing probably a fifth the price of this "new" model for over 4 years now smiley

    Re: 488 GTB/GTS

You think this car will be offered in manual?

Iain, the whole sentence on the slide was "Highest Utilisation of Carbon Fibre on a Range car from Ferrari".
The last two words were written in an extremely small font, so that you could not read it from behind, where the pic was taken. Smiley
