I took delivery of the TDF today. Its been a long time coming but it is everything I hoped for. I have not driven it much yet but its clear that the engine note and response is much more aggressive than the F12, the suspension is taut and purposeful and the gear change a joy. More driving impressions in due course but here are some shots of the very special paintwork in different light conditions. I know already this is going to be one of my favourite cars. Enjoy...

WOW! Congratulations! Very beautifully specced F12 tdf! Love it! I know you always had a great taste in cars!

Looks amazing!!! Congratulations! I think the car is an absolute monster indecision

I don't think I've ever posted one of mine. Got it about a month ago. Pretty intimidating to drive Smiley

You casually forgot to post your tdf... Smiley

    Brilliant spec and car.

This F12 tdf looks also stunning! Congratulations! Great work on your specification!

Fabulous cars. Both beautifully spec’ed. I am curious as to how you went about doing the color selection and the various color appointments. When I was buying Ferrari’s, they did not have an exclusive department to help.

Thanks Smiley.  Its important to have a theme or "look" in mind rather than leaving it to the factory department. It also helps to have plenty of experience with Ferrari options and not to try and ape a classical livery onto a modern design in my view. There have been some truly horrific TDFs with historical liveries on them. I also subscribe to the less is more school - many people go crazy and the result is over the top and kitsch. I had wanted to spec a white car for some time but given its a Limited Edition and a keeper I wanted a special and rare colour. I took the livery inspiration from the Tour de France name but the design of the stripe took a lot of thought - again my instinct was to not have it over power the lines of the car.. There are many many more subltites to it if you want to nail it, but you get my drift Smiley.

You really have knack for specing cars. Your TDF is simply stunning.kiss

More driving impressions in due course

As promised. Temperatures have been pretty low here in the UK the last week or two which has made driving this beast even more interesting. In a word it is  - challenging. Even an F12 will readily spin its wheels with the slightness bit of moisture on the road and the TDF doubly so. You  need to be alert at all times when putting the power down in this car , though it is pretty easy to recover the back as it slips along with all the help from the electronic aids. The steering feel is far better than the very light and lightening quick one in standard 458s and F12s. The 4WS helps to overcome the bulk of the car for sure. Gear change and brakes are all  one has come to expect from Ferrari. The experience as you can imagine is dominated by the wondrous sound from the V12 combined with that continuous feeling of been on edge and concentrating when pushing the car. Exactly how a Limited Series performance orientated Ferrari V12 should be. I think the complete design and engineering package will go down as one of the all time great Ferraris. Don't fall for all that rawness blah blah from the 599 GTO brigade - the TDF is the better car and sounds almost as good.

Re: Ferrari F12 Berlinetta / 599 GTO Successor

is 599 GTO still above it or the tdF takes the lead?

by the look and performance I would say tdF all day long but I have difficulties to understand the hype around the GTO...yes

TDF is number one as far as I am concerned (and I have both).

Now that the better weather is here, the beast has been unleashed again. I'm getting more confident pushing it. The car is incredibly stable and nowhere near as twitchy as the F12. You are always are of the huge front tyres. Rear grip in dry warm weather is not an issue and the steering and brakes engender great confidence during sensible but spirited road driving. Oh,  and  did I mention the sound SmileySmiley. Couple of quick shots from a drive out with friends today.....
