nberry:watt:Gentlemenskis,
Sky just read the GT3 "run in". section. 2000 miles at <4,000 rpm. Does anyone plan on taking this seriously? Thanks for all inputs.
Hell no! I’ll baby it ( occasionally exceed 7000 RPMs) for the first 500 miles but that’s it.

Good. Sky was planning the same - just making sure it's quite warm and take it "easy", easing it up.

Congrats Nick!
Sapphire blue GT3 is what I will order if they will sell me one.
When you track it next year, invite me to Area 27, I will try to catch you with my old RS.

The gearbox feels EXACTLY the same as in the 911R. Same gearbox after all.
Haven't driven it yet, car still need to go through PDI and I also need to be creative with parking..........
But sat in it, started the car, played around with the shifter. Same rifle bolt feel, same short throw as in the 911R.
The initial cold engine start up sound is quite unique, unlike every other 991 I have heard before.

the trick is: is it always the same one or a different one at any delivery?
that would give us more information about a dedicated bay or a dedicated section of the dealership
enjoy it, that new GT3 is a very good step compared to what they proposed before, chassis and engine wise.

Thinking about it, I don't really understand this purchase , too close to the R . Unless you want to keep the R with no milage as a collector .
Targa Tim will be happy, he'll have a blue GT3 earlier then what he thought he would

No risk purchase. I had wanted to try out the new motor and see the difference. AP raved about it (but then again AP rave about ANYTHING he promotes)
On idle because of the dual mass flywheel, it doesn't have the chatter sound the 911R with the single mass flywheel makes. The character of the engine is already different.
More refined. But cut from the same cloth.

bluelines:crayphile:crayphile:Congratulations
And OMG its not black!
Something is fishy
Congrats Nick!
As it happens I am thinking of going black on this one if I am not allowed PTS. Just got the call today from the OPC to come in and spec the car for January build.

PDK or Manual?
Yesterday I was going through some twisties at speed, had it in manual sport and boy did the car sing and perform. The shifts were lightning fast and smooth. What a phenomenal car.

I am thinking Touring and Manual in the hope I will also get a GT3RS allocation in due course.

Ultimate long-term keeper: understated, classic styling, epic drivetrain.. Even did the model delete which I would choose too.

Aren't you looking to buy a 991.2 GT3 RS? Doesn't get flashier than that at Porsche

Hahaha.. well, yeah - I’d love to get a new RS: purely because I really only drive on racetracks and the journey to/from these days. However, in my fantasy world where I have unlimited money I would also love to own such a thing too
I’d just miss the aero on track. The back of mine is vague enough under braking as it is.

I did actually toy with the model delete on my car. To my mind it looks better without, but on the other hand it is kind of iconic. Given the same choice again i’d probably delete it. I’m actually quite an understated kind of person, but just built a flashy GT3 as I felt it suited the car better.
