Thanks for your response, RC. I understand your reasoning now. It still amazes me that a Cayenne turbo would cost, even with a good discount, over 160 K. Guess it's the 19% VAT that makes a difference between US and German prices. The GLC is much better than the G model, so I think you will be happy with your decision. For my taste, even the GLC model looks a little like a car with too many " add ons" and is not as harmonious a design as the Cayanne, but that's a matter of personal taste. Thanks as always for your clear responses, and leadership on Rennteam, and have fun!
noone1:The new Jeep Hellcat thing is out now I think. Not as luxurious, but sounds seem pretty quick and only costs like $85K...
Jeep GC Trackhawk will certainly not cost 85k EUR (or the same amount in USD plus VAT) in Germany. My official Jeep dealer said that the Trackhawk could make it to Germany in 2018 but rumored price tag (communicated by the regional Jeep rep) is around 120k EUR. With full options probably somewhere around 125-130k.
Also, after my SRT "adventure", I think I am going to pass. The GLC is going to be our family car and I need something reliable and with a dealership at every city corner throughout Europe.
Also, I doubt that the Jeep lease offers will be interesting, they work with Santander Bank and the offer for the SRT was only good because Jeep (not the lease company) had a special minus 20k(!) EUR offer for businesses. Lease companies don't want to take much risk, unless they are manufacturer owned or somehow related to the manufacturer.
I pay 1460 EUR incl. VAT per month, no down payment. This is unbeatable. The Cayenne Turbo would have been 2400 EUR. I assume the Jeep would be around 1700 or so (these cars are not worth much after the lease ends, so they put a lot of value into the lease rate).

Sydney, I would love to get a Cayenne Turbo but I cannot afford it and I do not want to get a Cayenne S, just to get a Cayenne. I wouldn't be happy with it (my wife's Cayenne S Diesel is as fast as a Cayenne S but I'm not happy with the performance). My dealer really tried hard to find a solution for me, incl. that mentioned discount and further reductions but even at 2200 EUR (maybe I could have gotten there), this is too much for a family/business car for me. I was willing to spend up to 1600 per month.

SciFrog:I have clamoring for years the G is the ultimate soccer mom vehicle so no surprises from your experience RC...
It was always a dream of mine to own a G55 or G63 but of course you are right, this is not really a driver's car but a connoisseur's car and while I still lust for it, I know that the GLC 63 makes more sense for me. I specced the GLC really nice (Edition 1 with those nice Mercedes racing shells, ceramic brakes, carbon everywhere, etc.), so I won't regret it. Hopefully.

Wonderbar:Just out of curiosity, can the VAT tax be deducted from your income tax?
Since it is a business car, yes...VAT is deductible, so is maintenance, insurance, fuel, etc..

RC:AP911:Go with the G63. You are putting too much though into what others think. I would only consider the opinions of my wife, kids, and what you really want. Whenever you would see one you might say I wish I had taken it.
My business is something I cannot afford to mess with. Lately, I have many young(er) customers, very leftist and climate change oriented (I use paper bags in my business but already got some nasty comments about them), mostly students and I don't think a G class (even if they didn't know it is a G63) is a good idea in front of my business.
Also, my son is right: The G63 is cool but the GLC is much faster (straight line and curves) and both sound basically the same.
Last but not least, I know my wife: She sympathizes with the G63 now because her girlfriends liked it but in the end, she won't be happy with the G63 (she has to drive it in winter time because she cannot handle the C63 S AMG Convertible on slippery roads, so we switch cars). Similar thing happened with the Panamera Turbo S I had: Got the car because my wife preferred it over the Cayenne Turbo S but in the end, I was the only one driving it because it was too big for her, whatever.

What level of cash/loan investment you need to open a pharmacy in a small German town?
A mid sized and modern (latest tech incl. automation) pharmacy in a "good" position (with lots of doctors around you, maybe even in the same building, lots of foot customers) is around 500k EUR. Plus/minus 100k, depends on how full you want to have your stock in the beginning. Sums are without buying the location, if you want to buy the location (not worth it, unless you have "spare" money) it can be close to a million and more. The problem is to find a "good" position. A buddy of mine opened one next to a "doctor's house" with many doctors there (different ones), so perfect. His wife works there also as a doctor, so most of the prescriptions will make their way to his pharmacy. This is perfect!
Also, you need to be a pharmacist, you cannot open a pharmacy in Germany without being a pharmacist.

Integra:RC,
vat deductible for 100% ?
In Belgium it is related to the CO2 emissions.
for a base 911, this means 60% for vat, investment, maintenance and whatever.
In Germany, it is a bit complicated but has nothing to do with CO2 emissions.
I can use the 1% rule (which means that I can deduct everything but 1% of the new car's value is considered to be a gain...per month), I can use the 50% rule (which sometimes requires a driver's log) or I can try to deduct as much as possible by using a driver's log (up to 100% deduction, depends on how much I use the car for my business).
Personally, I am using the 1% method because it is the easiest for me (no driver's log so far but tax office could request it, not likely though, just had a major audit, everything regarding my cars was perfect) but my wife uses a driver's log because she drives a lot around to patients, so for her, this is an advantage.

Interesting: GLC63 market introduction in Germany has been, again, delayed: Now spring 2018. 😮
Doesn't really bother me since it was planned to get the car in May anyway but weird.

0-200 kph in 13.3 seconds (quite impressive)

amazon:That's so fast thanks to 4WD.
Is Mercedes going to give the normal C-class 4WD ?
The C class already has 4WD, with the exception of the C63 (4WD doesn't fit).
Facelift C63 doesn't get 4WD either.
