A fully loaded BMW 335i with amenities such as leather, Navigation, heated seats, and Comfort Access tells her you're an up and coming Junior Executive that's serious about your career and would be a good provider. A Porsche says you're a balding middle-aged sucker that doesn't know an overpriced underpowered impractical ripoff when you see one. Which one do you think would land you the woman of your dreams?

You've never had a girlfriend before, have you? Comfort Access is great for not having to fish around in a purse for keys, especially while in a dark deserted part of the parking lot late at night. It's the one feature women find most appealing, more than horsepower or handling, which are guy things.
I'm not even going to bring up the old cliche about guys who feel the need for a Porsche and little dicks.

I dont understand this. How can the 335i be faster than the Boxster/Cayman?
The BMW has 305 BHP versus the Boxters normally underestimated 295 BHP, and the Beemer weighs 1600 kg versus appr 1350 for the Boxster/Cayman.
The Beemer cant possibly be faster than the P.

Lasse, the 335i in reality has closer to 340-350 bhp. Even the Audi S5 can hardly beat it in a straight line.

Even with 350 BHP it has a poorer power-to-weight ratio than the P?
Most 295 BHP Boxsters/Caymans (Caymen pluralis?) really deliver 305/310 BHP.
It's still sounds strange....

Anyone have a serious test of these two cars - not necessasrily together - so we can compare 0-100, 0-160, quatermile etc?

I've read before that people are of the opinion that the 335i is faster (straightline) than the Cayman S. IMO it's nothing else than subjective perception (turbo vs. n/a engine). My (very subjective) view: a sportscar needs a n/a engine. I'm not a fan of turbos in a sportscar - they remind me of Diesel engines
But then, the 335i isn't a sportscar at all - as an Autobahn tool the engine concept makes a lot of sense though (just for the record: I like the driving dynamics of the 3 series a lot )
As for the real numbers here you go (numbers from the respective Sportauto Supertest)
(BMW 335i Coupé/Cayman S)
0-80 (4.2/4.3)
0-100 (5.6/5.7)
0-120 (8.0/7.8)
0-140 (10.2/9.9)
0-160 (13.0/12.3)
0-180 (16.9/15.8)
0-200 (20.7/19.8)

Thanks, PJ! It's proven now. The 335i is faster than the Cayman S from 0-80 and 0-100. Case closed.
