just bought a car!!!!!!

there was no way i could wait another 10 month for the LP640 to come without something to play with, tonight went on the net, surfed the US for an elise 111R that suits my taste and bought that one with the following options: sport pack, touring pack, stage 2 exhaust, leather interior, dual airbags, abs, upgraded sound. it should arrive to beirut in a month or so. i am dying to drive it , i only tried it once in the traffic in italy, i want o know why the press says so many good things about it. with a 0 to 100 in 4.8 it should be fun enough while the lp comes.
anyone have experience with elise???

But if it's another 10 months until your LP640 is ready, then how about adding another 85HP to your Elise with a single Garrett GT28R ball-bearing turbocharger kit from ForcedFed. They use the same turbocharger that was on my Noble M400 (stock setup) before I upgraded to twin GT28RS turbo's.

For $7,995.00USD, with the "Sport 275 Package" you get 275HP up from 190, good for 0-60mph in 4.0 and the 1/4 in 12.5 @ 110.5mph.

Yes, a fun car... realy like a go-kart, but would you not have considered the Exige ?

Congratulations! The Elise is sensory overload. The steering is so good that it will make you believe that everything else is a wet noodle with numb feeling.
You can absolutely drive the car everyday. It just depends on what your commute is like and how easy it is for you to get in and out. Remember to sit on the side-sill and swing your legs in first and then slide in (if the top is on you'll have to do this). With the top off, you may be able to step in onto the floor and just slide into the seat. To get out, it's best to lift yourself up and sit on the side sill and swing your left leg out to get a boost.
Great car and great color! You'll get lot's of attention just because of the color. A friend of mine has a chrome orange Esprit and it is like a neon light burning!

Wow $8k for only 85hp (crank hp none the less). That is horrible, not to be negative, but you make it sound like a bargain...

I thought about these at one point, but the cost compared to the performance turned me away.

Congrats on the car, I hear they are relatively fun, but it will just make you enjoy the LP that much more when the time comes!

Dimitri, the Elise is one of the finest sportscars around.
I seriously wonder if driving an Elise on a daily basis before the arrival of your LP640 is a good idea. The Elise makes most other cars seem like old man's cars - and I really doubt that the LP640 will handle anywhere near as well as the Elise. I know my Boxey feels tame (handling-wise) compared to the Elise.

The car is small, so getting in and out can be a hassle - and that alone might discourage you from driving it to the supermarket, cafe etc. on a rfegular basis. Well, forget supermarkets - there is no room for any luggage or groceries

The only real downside is its main upside: low weight. Not too much protection in an accident.

Congrats! It looks awesome! I truly wish I had a car like that. Please send it to me when your LP arrives

yes, i had a exige S, it really fun to drive! i dont think in the drivin felling will defer a lot from my exige.. You will like it a lot!
